All of our STUFF in one place!!!

As of today all of our stuff is now under one roof! First time in a year. Unpacked? Of course not. <giggle> No more storage shed payments! That $200 + savings will probably be eaten up by gas prices, but that is okay too. We hired Cheap Cheap, local movers again. They are the ones whe moved the big stuff out of the other house and over here. We even asked for the same guys. Really nice and very carefull with our stuff. They do it so effortly that they make me feel weak. Next move .... they get to do the whole house. <giggle>

It feels like Xmas, opening stuff and saying, "Oh is that where I packed that."

What a difference a year makes!

This time last year I was running around with Chris trying to get
everything set up for Wiggles, as we did every year. We had our
rituals. LOL I was also trying to figure out what to take to vend,
while still packing to move to Vegas the weekend after Wiggles. It
makes me tired to think about it. <giggle>

A year later ... I'm sitting in my air conditioned house (it will be
109 degrees today & right around that all week), trying to get the web
site tweeked and the print out registration forms up as promised for Wiggles of the West 2009. The
site is really shaping up, you all should take a look!

Concidering the heat, did I say 109, which will only get hotter, I'm so
glad we switched the dates to September!!! ! September is lovely here
in Vegas, you are going to love it.

Just finished a Pet Pyramid

Since the move to the new place, I'm like a kid in a toy shop. All my goodies under one roof again, it has been a while. So in between getting out body stocking orders, I'm trying to finish up some projects.

I just finished a pet pyramid, done in "CleoCATra" fabric. I would say this one would be for a cat. I didn't make a bottom for this one, since I ran out of fabric. So this would fit over a cat bed. It is 23" x 23" at the base and nearly that tall at the point. A little
Belly Dance Decore, shall we say.

I discontinued these at one time, because they are so time consuming to make. Then I could'nt figure out what else to use the foam. So I am making a few, until I run out foam. Once the foam is gone there will be no more.

Earthquakes in Reno

Okay Bill saw this on the Vegas news last night, but I missed it. And
then Chris mentioned it in an email this morning. So I paid real
attention to the news, as I ate my breakfast. I have got to say that
when I heard there was a 4.1 centered 7 miles outside of town followed
by a 4.2 6 miles out side of town, all I could think of was ... that is
what Boomtown gets for canceling our ventue for Wiggles of the West.
After all it is all about Belly Dance, right!

Well the canceling of WOW's venue and making Bill so miserable that he had to quit. Wait a minute, if Boomtown hadn't kept promising things would get better, we may have moved to Vegas a year or two earlier. So as bad as it was for Bill working there, we got the last laugh, because we love living in VEGAS!!!

Hope all my dear friends in Reno were just shaken up a bit, with no real damage to the homes or businesses.

Selling off Belly Dance VHS tapes

I have been slowly selling off bits and pieces of my HUMONGUS Belly Dance VHS collection on ebay. I did some before I moved from Reno, as I replaced them with DVDs (smaller to pack). Now I'm kicking it into gear! I'm listing them as fast as I check them 1) to make sure they still play well and 2) to see if I still want to keep them. Obviously my own performances I will keep. Maybe someday I will figure out this YouTube thing and post some of them.

I just sold 2 on ebay: Dance in the Desert 2002 and Yasmina Live! This morning I listed Desert Dance Festival Extravaganza #3 and Yasmina: An American Belly Dancer on ebay. There will be more to come like Fat Chance, Baraka's Dancer's Tool Kit (voted one of the best by Shira.net) and more. I just cleaned out two whole drawers of VHS tapes from a long chest of drawers in my storage shed, there must be 30 of these puppies I have to go through. Oh and I will be selling the chest of drawers too, when it is empty. A long waterfall style 40's or 50's style that I painted for my shop .... if anyone is interested.

I thought I had all the time in the world to go through these gems, but the Realtor who manages the house we are renting just told us the owners want it back at the end of the lease. That is July!!! So we are putting the first & last together for a new house to rent and will start looking around May. Oh goodie moving again. On the up side, maybe we will get a bigger yard for our puppies and a kitchen with more cabinets and counterspace. It will be in Vegas ... or maybe Henderson ... the mind wonders.

Working on Resolution #1

I went to my first BD class in Las Vegas at the Hollywood Park & Rec with Amaryllis. I was going to just do a drop in, but then I figured if I signed up for classes I would be committed. Only $52 for 2 classes. Amaryllis and I talked about my joining her class and she was totally cool with it. The Rec center is gorgious and the dance room is very cool: mirrors on 3 sides and a wall of windows with a view of the valley to die for! I'm glad I'm going during the day, that view at night would totally distract me. LOL

I have a lot of work to do. Muscle memory is all still there, but out of shape. But I have a great teacher, so it will all be good. Amaryllis has some interesting pluses in her class, I won't say what you will just have to join her classes. All I can say is after 34 years in this dance, if you can show me something different in class, you are very creative!

I'm off and dancing!!!

HAPPY 2008!!!

Happy New Year from Bill and I to all of you!!

We had a special treat, Bill didn't go to work until 2
am, so we got to watch the Las Vegas fireworks
together and do the New Year's kiss at midnight. This
may not sound like much to you, but most years one or
both of us have been at work on New Year's eve. So it
was special. Hope your New Years was special too.
