I changed the main feed to FriendFeed since I've been having some issues with Profilactic's feed. I also added a more recent photo (I may change that one to something a little more centered).

It seems like every single social website you sign up with these days has a blog involved. Tribe, MySpace, Last.FM, MOG, Zaadz, ThisNext, Bebo, iMeem, TagWorld...they all have the option of you having a blog exclusively on their site.

It occurs to me that it would be fun to keep posting to different sites. As long as you have RSS/XML feed capability, you can collect all your rantings in one place, so people that don't feel like chasing you all over the internets can read all your content in one place.

And of course there are sites like Spokeo and Profilactic, that let you aggregate EVERYTHING. Profiles, blogs, photos, bookmarks.

The mind reels. But there's probably a site for aggregating that, too.

in which I still haven't decided if I'm going to continue feeling my own way out or give up and appease the capitalist deities.

Perhaps it's naivete, but I still feel that I am SO CLOSE to "doing it right"...I just haven't figured out the missing step. The Universe has boundless resources waiting for me to tap into them and live in abundance...so why haven't I received what I've asked for? Is it my addled mind? Is it a step I have failed to perform? Or am I just not looking at it in the right way?

I know that I'll figure it out...but I have to do it myself. It won't be as effective if someone else tries to answer it for me.

I am currently trying to download the latest driver updates for my video card from Nvidia. The fastest speed I have been able to pull so far is 10.2 KB/sec. I have a DSL connection. I have downloaded two other multi-megabyte files since I started this one. Oh, it'll finish, but I think it will still be running within a couple of hours.

Now it's completely timed out. Guess I'll start over. You'd think they'd have mirrors or something. Oh, they DO. Ah...153KB/sec. Better.

I am somewhat envious of people who have goals, because I don't. The closest thing I have to a goal right now is being able to sit and spend time with people I still care about and not having to deal with things like customer service or financial debt. Things are clarifying very slowly for me...but I have always had some issues with mental focus.

It took 3 different doctors - two psychologists and one psychiatrist - before I figured out that regardless of whatever was wrong with my head, I was going to have to figure out how to fix it myself. I was baptized in a small Virginia church at a very early age, and I have been avoiding any dealings with Christians ever since. I have never done drugs (aside from various vitamins, supplements, and the occasional ibuprofen). I was buying a lot of self-help books, but then I would get past the first 20 or 30 pages and relegate the thing to a bookshelf. I still have all those books...and the tape sets. I'd like to believe it has something to do with attention deficit disorder, but then I always did like to have two or three things going at once even if I never finished them.

It could be me. It could be the world. I'll figure it out. Right now I can't even decide how I want to finish my night.
