SUPER TOMORROW
Mon, February 4, 2008 - 3:24 PMThen check out this website to find out www.VotePoke.org.
It's super easy.
And As a heads up to California INDEPENDANT voters out there:
The Democratic Party allows "Decline-To-State" (or independant) voters to vote for a Democratic presidential candidate in the Democratic primary. And, even after voting for a Democrat, you can still maintain your "Decline-To-State" status -- your registration remains the same.
(NOTE: According to California Republican Party rules, "Decline-To-State" voters are NOT allowed to vote in the Republican Party primary). Dunno why but that's the facts.
So if you want to vote democratic Just ask for a democratic ballot.
Have Fun Voting!

re: the repub rules vs dem rules for the primaries -
each party runs their own primaries independently of one another. There are completely different rules for the dems vs the repubs (And presumably for any third party that runs). in addition, it varies from state to state because of state constitutions and things as well. In most dem primaries, it is NOT winner-take-all. Delegates are given out by district in most cases. Thus, a state that is fairly evenly split can get half of its delegates given to each candidate. So if you have an opinion about Clinton vs Obama, VOTE (if you are legally able). In most repub primaries, it IS winner-take-all, so if (for example) McCain wins most of the votes in a state, he gets ALL of the delegates. Hope that helps to explain it. |
