So, here I sit, at my non-Mac computer (shush! don't tell Phil), trying to imagine what I could possibly add to all the testimonials that describe, validate, praise or in any other way begin to tell the world what a treasure, to be cherished, it is to be a friend of Phil's.
I can say that I am probably one of the people that has had the pleasure of his friendship since the last Ice Age (sometimes it seems that long, anyway). When he came to town, so many eons ago, I was involved in the post-pioneer period of the Society of Janus. During which time I was blessed to become friends with some of our communities greatest teachers and leaders ( most of whom thanked me for hooking them up with Phil after he & I met). I, also, was having great fun co-hosting play parties in San Francisco. It was there that I met Phil for the first time. Our first encounter wasn't the best of experiences for either of us (his version because it's been so long I can't remember). Fortunately we got past that and spent the next few years working together in helping Janus prosper and in making my parties as much fun as possible for my guests. It was during this time that Phil & August found each other to the joy of all that know them. In fact I once voted them the nicest couple in all of the tribes of kinksters in the SF Bay Area. One of the last things we three, with the addition of my fabulous partner, Maggie did together was create the parties called Fandango. Let's see, since then I was honored to be the Best Man at Phil & August's wedding, I lost Maggie and went into a dive that hit the bottom of Hell. Phil, waiting like the true friend he is, was there to help me climb back out again.
Our friendship has held true all the years since. He and August continued the Fandangos and their active participation in the BDSM communities until, finally, thru an act of Fate, chance, chaos or Intelligent Design they were able to begin the creation of a wonderful dream. So, with the help of countless true believers, my buddy Phil & his super spouse, August, have given us the best damn playhouse this ol' town has seen since a place called Shotwell closed over 20 years ago Phil, my man, I owe you more that a dozen lifetimes could ever begin to repay for your friendship, generosity, compassion, hella good times & just plain guts. If only every life could be blessed by the joy that Phil has brought to mine.
Here's to Phil. He's a (insert your own statement of praise).

Uhmm...ok well let's see now, I met Phil about (about 6) years ago at a playspace in Hayward. This is funny and you're going to laugh, but at the time I was being mentored, in the ways of submission, by a pretty serious old guard Dominant. During one of my sessions, this Dominant introduced me to his friend (Phil) and offered him my nipple to tweak. Phil being the polite man that he is, that rarely turns down a nipple when offered, tweaked mine pretty damned good as I remember! I did not see him again for almost 3 years, when I started going to the Citadel (old place). Even then, I could not place where I knew him from for a few months. We became fast friends and today, I cannot imagine my life without him in it.

Phil is a bit on the quiet side to those that don't know him well - but certainly in this case, still waters run quite deep. He has been there for me more times than I can count, and will be again, I'm certain, as I have promised that I would be there for you. He is brilliant, loving, charming, empathetic, wickedly sadistic and I have learned alot about who I am by knowing him.

Phil, you've shared your thoughts, secrets, history and experiences with me and I treasure all of it, (even the stuff I didn't want to hear (... LOL ).

You have always been there for Me when I've needed someone to fuss about things, to listen to good jazz, to share a Rocky Patel & scotch with, to talk sports with (I know, I know! no Raider gear in the dungeon! LOL), to ease the pains of the loss of family members, & to encourage Me to try harder, to aim higher, & to be better!

You're My voice of reason, My father figure, My creative thinktank, & My best friend all rolled into one, & for this I can honestly say you're THE GREATEST, & I LOVE YOU TO DEATH, PHIL!

i have always felt honored that Phil and August have been so good to me, but about a month ago, i watched Phil fuss over a sleeping friend, making sure that he was completely covered up (his feet had been sticking out) i don't think i've ever loved Phil as much as at that moment.

Phil is smart, sarcastic, experienced and sexy. But that moment was revealed the depth of the true heart that he has for the people close to him. We are all blessed to have him in our community.
