From the first moment I met Lori, I knew that she held within her heart, pure joy. Lori has given freely of herself to all she meets. Her passion for her life, her sisters and her dance has no limits. Lori has brought to her community, a beautiful art form that has stirred amazing women who have united to be, Luna Dance Circle. To watch Lori and Luna Dance Circle, brought tears to my eyes to witness such a beautiful display of Tribal Dancing. Watching their movements, smiles, and interactions, it is clear to see, Lori has instilled in them, pure grace. I feel honored to have been in the front row of all her accomplishments and am so grateful to Grandfather that our paths crossed. Lori, you may be a tiny dancer, but you hold a huge place in my heart. May you always dance with Love, Light and Laughter, Love you...Dee Dee

about me
I'm having a re-awakening of sorts, with my inner gypsy dancer's soul.
My passion for Le Danse has been reignited, to once again dance this ancient dance. I danced in Detroit, years ago, when the Middle Eastern dinner-clubs w/ floor show were hot (yes, many years ago). I had the honor, as well as the pleasure, to share the stage with two very talented musicians; Nadeem Dalikian and Ossama Naja who played at popular nightclubs in the metro Detroit area and else where. Nadeem also played the nay for recording on one of Dahlena's albums, a wonderful collection of music I must say. I even had the honor to dance under Ossama's tutelage; although, I'm not sure he'd say the same.......I may have been a difficult student ;-) I've been blessed to have had the opportunity to attend workshops with some of the great teachers of 'Le Danse' such as; Morocco, Dahlena, Bert Ballentine and the late Ibrahim "Bobby" Farrah. Since my arrival to Alaska in 2005 I've been able to attend workshops with such masters as; the Grande Dame of ATS herself, Ms Carolena Nericcio and the lovely Megha Gavin, Ms. Mira Betz, the absolutely amazing E. Artemis Mourat WOW! And a tribal fusion workshop with the oh so bendy Heather Stants and Miss Lorraine of The Urban Tribal Dance Company. Most recently I've had the pleasure to attend a weekend workshop with Ms. Alexandra King yeah! AND I got to perform in the "Earthquakes and Hipshakes 2008" show "Middle Eastern Market" and all of this right here in The Great Land aka Alaska! No need to go "outside" as in; leave Alaska! The Luna Dance Circle is still going strong and inspiring more women to join our dance circle, here in our little hamlet by the sea. I'm thankful to the beautiful and talented ladies of Alaska's Middle Eastern dance community who's love, support and encouragement has helped inspire and rekindle my passion for Le Danse. Peace and many blessings~ Who knew that Alaska could be such a mecca for so many talented, beautiful and loving dancing goddesses? PS: I still want to climb mountains!
