;)  After Years Today, from a distance, I saw you walking away, and without a sound the glittering face of a glacier slid into the sea. An ancient oak fell in the Cumberlands, holding only a handful of leaves, and an old woman scattering corn to her chickens looked up for an instant. At the other side of the galaxy, a star thirty-five times the size of our own sun exploded and vanished, leaving a small green spot on the astronomer's retina as he stood on the great open dome of my heart with no one to tell. Proud father of my beautiful 6 year old daughter, she's the light of my life! I'm still working and paying the bills as a clinician at a community mental health agency, providing counseling, case management and group therapy for Low income, seriously mentally ill consumers. I've worked in the field for over 20 years now, and amazingly I still Love what I do! I seem to catch that Burning Man fever thing every year around July and end up having this amazing time out on the Playa! And each year gets better and better. I try to carry that energy, creativity and sprit with me well after the Burn in to the rest of my year. It doesn’t quite carry me to Country Fair time, but almost. My first Burn was in 2000-Year of the Body and a Fuckin' crazy RAIN year but I loved it and swore I'd never miss Burning Man. But . . . .in 2002 my Daughter was born on the weekend of the Burn and I missed a few burns as she is the most important being in my life. This year was probably my last for awhile as her birthday falls on the Saturday of the Burn next year.
