This is the shot that I actually used for my 365 project, though it is not my favorite, it is me with a full smile and I couldn't remember having a shot like this in the collection yet.

Sad, sad, sad. Trailer Park closed tonight. It was the bestest show EVAR and if you didn't come see it, you're dumb. Gary and Alex got us lava lamps with engraved plaques that say, "The Great American Trailer Park Musical, Denver 2007" on them. Thinking back over all of the closing night gifts that I have received over the years, that is probably one of the nicest.



Now the good news! I got hired to work deck crew on La Cage aux Folles (The Birdcage, the Robin Williams/Nathan Lane movie was based on it.) at the Arvada Center, which totally rocks my socks off. La Cage is also the bestest show EVAR! I did it in college and have loved it ever since. I have the added bonus of the Trailer Park crossover. A bunch of people who worked on TP are crossing over to La Cage. w00t! I have also never worked at the Arvada center before and it is a huge venue so this could lead to a lot of work in the future. Yay! I get to stay in Theatre! I don't have to go back to an office job which is the suck!



I knew if I could just get work at one theatre out here that it would blossom into a network of jobs for me. Not to sound arrogant, but I am really good at what I do. My current Stage Manager told me that she thought that I was one of the most talented theatre technicians that she had ever worked with. The problem with the field is that if you don't know someone in the area, you are never going to get hired. It took me 2.5 years of constantly sending my resume out to get the job at The Civic and my resume blows away most of the other theater techs that work in Denver.



I'm going to go plug in my lava lamp now and bask in it's pink globby goodness. :)
