One day in the not too distant future I'll get to eat Dim Sum again with this woman!! and Rice Pudding.
She's out and out wonderful! She can talk the hind legs off a donkey but still keep you listening and she's a fiendish meat cook. In fact she's probably one of my favourite dining companions ever!

about me
What exactly do you want to know? Because you know. "That would be telling."
In 2004, my mother ran into the doctor who delivered me in the hallway on her way to a meeting at work. He stopped her asked her how she was doing and said, "One sec, I have something to show you." He took out his wallet and flipped through 5 plastic sleeves of infant photos. One the 6th page was my first photograph. I wasn't the first baby he delivered and he's still practicing so I wasn't the last. We are not related, I wasn't born in any emergency circumstance. There are no harrowing circumstances surrounding my birth. 3 of the 7 photos in his wallet were pictures of his own children. So why, of all the children he's delivered over the years, does he keep a photo of me in his wallet? Get to know me and find out . . .

Now I know that Dr. Martin Luther King made some awesome contributions to American society. I freely acknowledge and appreciate the man's impact on our culture and the world. In fact my first job was in the Public Affairs Department at the MLKing Center for Nonviolent Social Change. While my classmates were flipping burgers, picking up trash and running rides at Six Flags; I was sending out press releases and coordinating national nonviolence conferences. So yeah, I'm well aware that Dr. Ki...

Last weekend was a real mixed bag. On Saturday I went to the hair salon fully intending to pull myself out of my funk and go to Slimehag’s birthday party after. I really wasn’t in the mood for a party, still feeling kind of down about Killa and all but you know I thought I’d pay my respects nonetheless.

Anyway while I was there I ran into the Buddhist lady I met there before Thanksgiving. The one who’s mother used to spit in her food when she was a child and call her black and ugly. Ye... read more

I'm kind of out of practice at this medium so it's taking me a while. Not really in the mood for a Belated Birthday Slumber Party this weekend. . .Worried About My Friend
It's kind of been a long week at work but I'd decided to have a Belated Birthday Sexy Saturn Slumber Party for my birthday. I thought it would fun low key kind of experience where people could watch movies, eat Chinese food, smoke hookahs, swim in the hotel pool, play games and crash without having to worry about dragging themselves home. Fun and sweet good time. So I called Chanukka Chicken to get his opinion on my last 3 choices for hotel before I firmed up my reservation. It was about 10p...

35 Years ago my father and uncle started a legal practice. A friend of theirs joined the business and within a few years the practice grew to be the largest Black owned law firm west of the Mississippi up until the late 80's. My eldest cousin joined the practice after my dad left and another cousin joined 6 years ago. Now the firm has grown over the years there are more partners my uncle has passed on, but my eldest cousin has stayed in the firm. I hired him last year and you all have rea...

It was off to a a slow start. To be honest I wasn't sure how the day was going to shape up. Christmas was nice and Christmas Eve was a regular barrel of monkeys, relaxing, unconventional and fun with no drama and cartoons. My birthday usually doesn't really end up really being much more than another day of the year. Most people forget it or they have other obligations and that's the way it's been for the majority of my life and I haven't been happy about it but I've gotten used to it kind...

Yesterday was my younger brother's birthday. Tomorrow is mine. He is exactly 362 days younger than me. We share a father and a sun sign outside of that we couldn't be more different. David is male 6'3; I am a female 5'3 1/2. He was raised with our two sisters. I didn't know they existed until I was 9 years old and was raised as an only child. Never laid eyes on any of them until I was 26. Our father had been dead for five years by then. My brother went to Ohio University in Athens,...
