To all Men who love to hoop. I would like to welcome you to the (thankfully) girl-dominated world of hula-hooping (you cant argue with the shakin hips and exposed bellies). Still as men, we have to hold our ground. Part of that is calling it Hula-hooping - not hooping. I dont live in SF anymore. It's a classic conflict- live near other artists for creative inspiration and community or go to a fresh scenewith less competition and a chance to look at your art from outside the petri dish. SF is fully saturated. Pay is better pretty much everywhere else. And everyone there starts to absorb the same style. Portland is the same- all perfromers seemed to have adopted the same style. I like the freedom of smaller places- libral small towns. I am in Mount Shasta now...

i have seen a lot of festivals go through the progression- Artists' concept, artists built... all those great ideas, beautiful scenery, fun activities and freedom- oriented activities attract the fratboys and sorrority chicks not because they respest the art or the freedom, but mostly because it looks like a fun place to get drunk and take drugs.
