Dawn was here in December teaching a CJ seminar. I'm soOo glad that I convinced her to come out and get some excitement going about contact juggling. Not only am I the famous (infamous?) guy doing the intervention, but now I have a bunch of friends who have seen the art of contact juggling. Further to that, my excitement level for CJ jumped 100%.

Before the seminar I was playing around w. CJ and s-l-o-w-l-y getting better. Since the seminar, I've typically had a ball with me everywhere. I'm learning stuff and progressing at a rate that is really surprising me. I've almost got chest rolls from the back or palm down solid. While practicing in the Denver airport on Friday, I (accidentally) managed a shoulder stall. W00t!

Next tricks, I think, are the Walking Halfpipe and the Folding Line.

Happy New Year

Wow! What a way to bring in the new year. We started with BLA's NYE shindig at the Reverb - just amazing... probably one of the best indoor parties I've ever attended! Deco, artists, music, people all top notch! Then off to SumKidz for a few hours from 7am-11am, off to Tyler's for an afterparty with MapUSAMapUSA and Deviant Species, and finally back home to recover!!!!

Wow!!!

All I can say, is... Wow!

Thanks everyone for a great time. Lookin forward to partying with you in 2006 and beyond!

Contact Juggling

Ok... I'm psyched!!! There's a chance, and a pretty good one at that, that Dawn may be coming back from BC to Toronto for a family visit add to that that I've been trying to convince her to do a CJ workshop while she's here and, wow, super excitement :) LOL

I've been trying to sort out contact juggling, on and off, for about 3/4 of a year, and to say that I'm an absolute rookie is not an understatement. Sure, I could have practiced more, but it's always more fun to have someone to learn from and people to practice with.

Here's hoping!

Wow! What a GREAT NIGHT!!! (Imprompu #1)

I put up a party at Cherry Beach on Friday night, partly because the weather had been so amazing of late, to celebrate the Indian summer we'd been having, and partly because I just needed a Psy trance party.

It was a party that clearly wanted to happen. I had 5 confirmed DJs going into the night and a total of 9 by about midnight.

The line up as it happened was:
- Psyscribe
- Echo Void
- Rook (yes, my 1st "out of the bedroom" set :) )
- Scott Guy
- Basilisk
- live set by Luddite
- Shankar
- live set by Ash
- Plan B

Everything went off without a hitch. The music was great, the sound pumping, the vibe amazing. Thanks to all who came out and made the event a stomping good time.

Kim dubbed the party "Impromptu #1" and I can't wait for #2!!!

BigFoot 2005

Oh My GOD what an amazing party!!! Those of you who were there and boppin on the BLA stage know exactly what I'm talking about!!! Even the early morning downpour Sunday morning, didn't dampen spirits.

HARDCORE :)

The tunes were great. The weather was lack-lustre until Sunday, but then what amazing weather we had. And the Music!? Oh, the music. Perfect comes close to describing it :) I danced so much that all I could muster on Sunday afternoon was "shuffle across the dance floor... sit... shuffle across the floor... sit...". What a GREAT time!

Shaktivism party

Helped out with Shakti Collective's 1st ever outdoor party on the weekend at Cherry Beach. What a blast!!!

Brought my generator for power, so unfortunately nothing could start before we got there and we arrived a little later than desired (were shooting for 3pm on Saturday, got there closer to 4:30 and the party was supposed to start at 4). Fortunately there weren't many people there yet and so it wasn't much of a hiccup.

Once the generator arrived was wired up and powered the party began. Another slight hiccup - one of the Mackie SRM450s that the collective rented was split and sounded *nasty*. A small deligation ran off to Long&McQuade to replace it - again, nothing anyone really noticed as we stole a speaker from the yet-to-be-live chill stage.

From that point on the night went pretty smoothly. The DJs and their sets were amazing! VJs Scott Guy and Elfmaster put on an amazing video show. There were 3 other parties happening at Cherry Beach that night - we almost had our own mini-Om/Teknival going on with the musical variety that was available.

The other parties, unfortunately, brought an element to a Shakti party that isn't normally there - the sketchy thief type *sigh*. A couple of women's purses got stolen (from what I know most of the contents were later recoverd less cash and cell phones). All I can say to these sketchy people is: stay the F* away from my parties and my friends!

Toward the end of the night, while I was chatting with Boris, I was made an official member of the Shakti Collective and he's going to start to work me into the DJ lineups for Shakti parties. I'll likely be starting the party, but that's just fine by me - less stress ;) and more partying later - Wahoo!!!

Wow! What a weekend.
