This weekend was amazing. It's Tuesday and I'm still dancing. That was one of the best musical performances I have ever witnessed, in any genre. Tchkung's last show at the Rockcandy, the WTO band at the Showbox, Nirvana's surprise apprearance in Bellingham, and Gil are all in the same league. I have so many blisters on my feet from dancing so much that I've been limping for days. I was totally overdue for a maximum enthusiasm darkpsy freakout session. It rawked.

I got to see Negativland for the first time last Saturday. It kicked ass, there was a 4 room exibit of their artwork and a live performance "radio show" it was crazy seeing the weatherman mix using a tape machine. That dude is a tape machine ninja he puts the best Abelton ninjas to shame. Shuffling tapes and rewinding and pausing and unpausing in a flurry of crazyness like he's had almost 30 years of practice. It was like a comparative religions class for the attention deficit disorderly. Just using samples and effects and CDs and tapes. It was really mellow, assigned seating and such at consolidated works.

Having my wisdom teeth out was my least painful experience ever. I go to the dentist's office really early in the morning so I'm already falling asleep as soon as I sit down in the dentist chair. They give me a pretty wussy, but adequate ammount of nitrous and I pass out almost instantly. I vaugely remember leaving the dentists office and the ride home. A couple hours later I wake up next the the fireplace with a pocket full of oxycodone and penecillin. It didn't suck.

I've got two weeks off for the first time in a long time. I get my wisdom teeth pulled this Friday so this week is all about taking care of all the crap I've got to take care of like filing taxes, getting my car tuned up, cleaning, etc. so after Friday I can just sit around on pain killers and chill. I've been making good progress in my studio. I need a RAM upgrade for my G5 I think that's my current performance bottleneck. I might be playing a show with the Liquified this Saturday, but I'm not shure.

December has been weird. It feels like the credits should start rolling for this episode of my life. Lots of loose ends all taken care of. Lots of good things about to happen. I'm ready for change. I'm ready to rock. I had a bunch of big distractions recently and they are finally expelled from my existance.

I don't know how to use it yet. Logic 7 is way different than Logic 5. It feels like a totally different program.

Tonight at the Beacon Pub I am playing with the Liquified. Every time I've played with them they've sounded different. When the opened for Psychic TV it was a really chill set but I think everyone's talking about more full on experimental noise for tonight. It might/should kick ass.

I'm joining the Liquified at the Beacon Pub on the 27th of November. I've never played with them before. The Liquified are an improv experimental jam band that sounds almost completely different every time they play. Everyone has been talking about going for a really harsh/hard noise style for this show, but I don't know, it is on Sunday at a pub.

The coolest thing about making experimental noise is that you have concern yourself at all with making it good. Which makes it the perfect genre for learning new techniques and tools. I've been trying to make Psytrance in protools for a couple months now and it just isn't happening. I like the psy I make in Logic, but that's because I know how to use logic. The two programs seem optimised for different things. I read alot of music magazines and most of the people they interview that like logic are more experimental and electronically based groups, but protools is more of a live band with experimental production kind of thing going on. I just need to spend more time with it.
