Einstein said it best!

"Out of clutter, find simplicity.
From dischord, find harmony.
In the middle of difficulty,
lies opportunity."

15 Things To Remember

15 Things To Remember

(Thanks, Dad, for sending me this...)

1. Faith is the ability to not panic.
2. If you worry, you didn't pray. If you prayed, don't worry.
3. As a child of God, prayer is kinda like calling home every day.
4. Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.
5. Do the math. Count your blessings.
6. God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts.
7. Silence is often misinterpreted, but never misquoted.
8. Laugh every day - it's like inner jogging.
9. The most important things in your home are the people.
10. There is no key to happiness. The door is always open. Come on in.
11. A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.
12. He who dies with the most toys is still dead.
13. It's all right to sit on your pity pot every now and again. Just be sure to flush when you are done.
14. Surviving and living your life successfully requires courage. The goals and dreams you're seeking require courage and risk-taking. Learn from the turtle, it only makes progress when it sticks out its neck.
15. Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

A Blessing of Presence - Happy Thanksgiving Poem

A Blessing Of Presence

May you awaken to the mystery of being here and enter
the quiet immensity of your own presence.

May you have joy and peace in the temple of your own
senses.

May you receive great encouragement when new frontiers
beckon.

May you respond to the call of your gift
and find the courage to follow its path.

May the flame of anger free you from falsity.

May the warmth of your heart keep your presence a
flame and anxiety never linger about you.

May your outer dignity mirror an inner dignity of
soul.

May you take time to celebrate the quiet miracles
that seek no attention.

May you be consoled in the secret symmetry of your
being and may you experience each day as a sacred gift
woven around the heart of wonder.

Father John O”Donahue

..

Thanks, Mom, for emailing this poem today...

Success

To laugh often and much,
to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children,
to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends,
to appreciate beauty,
to find the best in others,
to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch...
to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded! -Emerson

The Paradox of Our Age - by H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama

The Paradox of Our Age

We have bigger houses but smaller families;
more conveniences, but less time;
We have more degrees, but less sense;
more knowledge, but less judgement;
more experts, but more problems;
more medicines, but less healthiness;
We've been all the way to the moon and back,
but have trouble crossing the street to meet
the new neighbor.
We've built more computers to hold more
information to produce more copies than ever,
but have less communications;
We have become long on quantity,
but short on quality.
These times are times of fast foods;
but slow digestion;
Tall man but short character;
Steep profits but shallow relationships.
It is time when there is much in the window,
but nothing in the room.

The Four Agreements - from the Toltec Wisdom book by Miguel Ruiz

Be Impeccable With Your Word : Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. You are only as good as your word. This one is key in business and personal relationships and builds trust.

Don't Take Anything Personally : Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune the the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering. Let things roll of you. Take life's bumps as part of life's 'normal' course of lessons..and avoid getting angry, hurt and disappointed.

Don't Make Assumptions : Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. Assuming makes and 'ass' out of 'u' and 'me'. We aren't mind-readers..better to speak your mind and find out what's really going on.

Always Do Your Best : Under any circumstances, simply do your best and you will avoid self-judgement, self abuse and regret. Your best is all you got!
