yesterday i got laid off. i could feel it coming as i made my way to the director's office. i'm surprised it didn't happen during the last round of layoffs. on the scary side- i'm a single mom with a mortgage and no job. on the positive side- i'm a single mom with time to spend with my little girl, a little safety net and unemployment, and with a few creative moves- i'll have part of the summer left to work out and watch my daughter grow and learn. i'll have time to have lunch with friends and take trips to the beach or to the woods. i'll get to be there for my sister when she goes in to be tested for cancer. i'll have some TIME to let my heart shine and manifest something better- in the now and for the future. there are worse things that could happen. perhaps this is the pre-cursor for something amazing. maybe it is a test of faith. whatever the case may be, i get to take time to breathe and slow my pace, find my center, and redirect rather than simply go through the motions. i want a job where i find meaning, can commute by MAX, that gives me room to grow and provide for my family. this is what i'll focus on to reach for as i continue to remember to be grateful for all that i already have.

I have had the blessing to have witnessed seen several incarnations of Dee over the years. What always impresses me is that she gives 100% and then some. Her excitement will ignite yours. She can really see what's going on like she's got some kind of Xray vision into the truth. She will make you laugh when you need it most. I love her so much. She's just that awesome!

I'm not sure how Dee got to be so spectacular. She has the sexiest eyes. She's caring and knows how to write things to make a penguin's heart feel better. Not everyone can do that. Not the way she does. I'm ever so lucky I know her...and love her.
