The Bite
You can't start a fire without a spark, but you might be able to power a
nightclub without one. Having recently debuted its vertical gardens, Zen
Compound - the SOMA entertainment center that isn't the Metreon - plans to
harness the power of your feet. Later this year, it will install a dance
floor that'll use the piezo effect to turn the pressure from dancing feet in
its Temple club into electrical power for its sound system and lighting.
Until then, soak up the eco atmosphere (complete with plant-covered outside
walls) before you toss back organic booze in corn-based cups. Say hello to
the new Boss of green nightclubs in SF.
