With each passing year (just wrapped my 9th), re-entry from Black Rock City has become more and more seamless. As I take lessons learned from the playa and bring it full circle I realize that what happens out there isn't so alien anymore. Instead of becoming jaded, I can better see the beauty within people and the art in the everyday. I guess one of the reasons why I never tire of venturing out to the desert is that each year is so different, bringing all sorts of gifts and challenges. Last week I spent a good deal of my time shooting video for TV free Burning Man. Even bailing on ass-whoompin' parties at two in the morning to get time on the edit suite.
