I've been throwing dinner parties for years, and have recently turned it into a business that showcases local musicians (including myself), artists and artisans, chefs (including myself), and beer/wine makers. It's been quite a ride! I'm also on Lj and MySpace, so look for me there.
So, maybe there's a little self promotion, but hey. You gotta get peoples' attention! I'm half Cancer half Leo, so I REALLY need attention. I mean, damn! Fire and Water. Isn't that how the earth was created? Hmmm...

Want to participate in First Night's NYE Celebration?
Want to be nice and warm in furryness while everyone else is freezing?
Want to bang on drums and dance down congress?
Well, have we got an opportunity for you!
The Caveman Collective is searching for fellow bro-magnons and sheanderthals to make a fun, theatrical statement about the evolution from Petroleum to electric powered vehicles.
The short version:
We need:
2-3 puppeteers (think chinese dragon-style)
min. 5 cave people
4 riders
10 drummers
The long version:
Imagine a pack of happy cavepeoples drumming and dancing away while walking down
congress, when suddenly up from behind comes an angry, mean and ugly
truckceratops, fresh from the pre-historic petroleum age. It menaces
and threatens the poor innocent cavepeoples, who scatter about in
fear, and then with sounding trumpets and a speeded 5-mph rush attack
come up our heroes on their fabulous electric trikes, shooting nerf
guns and stabbing foam-tipped spears into the surly beasty from the
oil age, killing it and moving along to lead the cave people back
towards their happy drumming march down congress.
The key here is theatrics, and having some way to animate the
truckeratops. We're thinking more like the chinese dragon dancers, with the
one person up front animating the head, and one or 2 or more persons
animating the legs, body and tail. I could see this happening with as
little as 2 persons.
You'll be invited to exclusive costume-making parties. We'll bribe you with food and booze!
You'll be in a parade!
AND you'll still have time afterwards to make it out to that raging party before midnight!

And in its place is the most f-ed up carnival you've ever seen!
Carnies come out!
We want you to show the world what a freak you are!
What can you do on stage that might freak out the norms?
Looking for any and all kinds of circus acts, burlesque, freakshows, and anything interesting or possibly disturbing.
We'll also be making post-apocalyptic carnival games for people to play. The resulting games we create will be donated to Circus Nefarious for Flipside this year. Gotta give back to the community, right?

Camps and Chefs are encouraged to bring their paltry attempts at Fajita-ness.

I have a friend that got confused by someone who told her not to send in her ticket request because they were already sold out. So, now she and her boy need to see if they can find tickets to Flipside.
And, in return for me finding them, she'll help me get my voice in shape for the rock opera!
