rambling from a rambling angel...

In Prayer,,,

Yesterday we all divided to explore Tokyo. Rajiv, my mom and i went to a big hotel in the Asakusa area. We then explored the Buddhist temple dedicated to the goddess Kannnon. There were swarms of people, many Geisha girls and boys in traditional dress. At the shrine inside the temple i took note of a very Beverley Hills looking Japanese girl, lots of bling in shorty shorts. I watched her as she walked up to the center of the shrine... she throw a small coin into the box and bowed her head to pray. People came and went and came and went and she remained there head bowed. I wondered what challenge she was facing, what favors she was asking the goddess, what quandries they were discussing together. Suddenly she was not some shallow girl as i had so judged her to be, but a deep river.... my heart sweld as i pondered how similar we all are, dressed in different armer that makes us feel so separate.

Luminous left coast beings.... J likes fire!....www.jnto.go.jp/eng/indept...kuribi.html Down in Kyoto which is a dream. Blessings for spreading our creative energies worldwide!

(Also close to Tokyo - the Kamakura Buddha. You can local train it. They built a giant bronze Buddha in a temple. But in a big hurricane, the building blew off. The Buddha, groovin', stayed. Biggest outdoor bronze Buddha in the whirld). (if you go to Kyoto, the trippy O-Inari shrine - dedicated to fox spirit energy is a short train away)

Maybe Kannnon was showing you something... that things are often not what they appear to be.. that there is much depth and treasure behind the persona we show the everyday world... that we each in our own way, hold much magic.

Love & miss you & so enjoying the stories of your adventures!
