Dr. Smitty is an accomplished scientist, and I look forward to getting to know him better while he stays with my sister Amaya. I was so pleased to be able to bring him to the Renaissance faire, and I can't wait to invite him along to all my fun summer activities. I am sure he will have plenty of opportunities to practice his eth-frographic methods as he participates and observes my friends and me this year.

Hi Dr. Smitty,
I am sorry for biting your leg yesterday. I got really excited about playing.
I know that you are a Ph.D. scientist and I should show you more respect.
I hope we can get along better in the future. I will try to be a better kittie.

Dr. Smitty, it was a pleasure to meet you when you came to dinner at my house a few weeks ago. The frogs in the bathroom have not stopped raving about you and your research. Unfortunately, the turtles have become jealous that I have not had a world famous turtle research over. In any case, thank you for all of the fabulous research you do, and keep up the good work!

Simply Sara tagged me! So here are 8 things about me that you might not already know.
1. My first name is Aloisius.
2. I was born in the Willamette River, near Eugene, Oregon. My parents, Hermione and Adolfus Smitty, escaped their fate as dissection specimens from the Biology Lab at the University of Oregon by using their infamous 'Smitty wits,' and settled by the river nearby, where our family was born.
3. My great great grandfather was from the River Loire in France, and was...

This weekend I got to meet the incorrigible Dr. Becvar and his lovely wife, Bobby. They were visiting from El Paso, TX to attend Katherine the Great's graduation ceremonies. We had quite an exciting weekend full of sight-seeing and fun. Friday we went to the beach, where I got to splash around a bit in the salt water, and hang out with the family and have some cocktails. people.tribe.net/drsmittyf...cc0b4a5ae7people.tribe.net/drsmittyfrog/...

Don't you hate it when you see folks gabbing away on cell phones, oblivious to others around them? It gives me pause, wondering about what we might be losing out on by not paying attention to where we are and who we are with in the present moment. Now don't get me wrong, this frog is as excited as the next amphibian about the possibilities that new technology offers in the way of connecting to others in remote places. But I just wonder about the extent to which folks spend in conversatio...

Wow ~ I've only now started to come down from an awesome weekend of partying. Man, you Californians know how to do it right!! I had an absolute blast on Saturday night at Tony and Lucy's place up in Bonsall. Amaya dressed me up all "Shamanistic Go-go" fabulous with beads and glamour. I felt like a new frog. We went up to Red Jazelle's pad and I got to hang with Peter Pan and his buddy Julio. What a riot! We made pina coladas and gin and tonics...and I even got a "Frog Cocktail":

Last weekend I was invited by Katherine the Great to join her at the Southern California Renaissance Faire. What a weekend! Not only did I get to meet some of the most gorgeous belly dancers in the West, I also was dressed up in a turban so that I blended in with the Middle Eastern theme! They really know how to make a frog feel special, indeed.
It's funny: while I was dressed up, a couple folks asked Katherine if I was a TURTLE! It must have been the turban (TURtle TURban?). I hav...
