Hail fellows and well met!

I’m Greg Fisher AKA Phestus Boomweaver. I’m the designated goatwhacker for Skatha. By the way, goatwhacker means drummer for those of you who were taking that in another direction!

I play doumbek, davul, riq, and anything else that isn’t nailed down. I drum for belly dancers with a fledgling Arabic ensemble called Davul. Most weekends during the summer you’ll find me at Renaissance Faires throughout New England. There I’ll be selling musical Instruments from my tent, the Drum and Whistle. My wife Megan, a belly dancer herself, is usually there with me spinning poi, or selling her stained glass as the Glass Spider.

I am fascinated with world, ethnic folk, and early music, as well as the period instruments used to create that music. With any luck there will be a hurdy-gurdy in my future. However, since a gurdy would require me to take out a second mortgage to purchase and pit crew to keep functioning, it may be the distant future before I actually get one.

Recently, a new chapter in my life has opened centered around Skatha. This collaborative voyage is sure to be wonderous and exicting ( and hopefully a little frightening ) Come along for the ride. With Ray leading us (and Stig to clean up after us!) there is sure to to be magic, mayhem, music and more. I can’t wait to see where it takes me.
