What's my line...
IT'S OFFICIAL!!!
Fri, March 6, 2009 - 11:03 AMNo trip would be complete without a heavy dose of drumming. I'm taking one drum: a 20" Cooperman bodhran. So as not to miss out on an opportunity I am planning on taking a hand held Digital Recorder. The one that I am looking at is the M-Audio Micro Track II Portable Digital Recorder.
The possibilities are boundless. This is fun!!!

Wow, that's a beautiful drum!
Daveed,
Enjoy the heck out of your trip! That's a great idea to bring a recorder in case a serious jam breaks out. I only wish I had had the foresight to do that on so many occasions. Working with children is magic. Again, have a great time. E |

The story will continue.
The tickets have been purchased and the money is gone from my back account, so it has gotten very real. Now is the time to work out all of the technical details. What am I taking? What is my plan for bringing things back? How do I handle money? Istanbul was completely different from Uzbekistan. So, this being only my third trip across the Atlantic and my first solo trip, I'd rather have the basics figured before leaving town. Any comments or suggestions? They are welcome.
Thanks...Daveed |

You may find helpful info in something like tripadvisor.com. I found that site to be helpful when I went to Mexico for the first time.

Congratulations Honey! That's beautiful!
Israel is a strange and magical place. With so many cultures overlapping, both modern and ancient, it truly is the crossroads of the world. |

Also...
I went to Israel when I was 15 to visit some of my cousins. One of my most vivid memories is walking through the old city of Jaffa at night on my way to meet some my family for dinner, and coming across an open air cafe where two men were dueling in talking drums. Amazing! |
