<div>A co-worker brought this kitten into our office today in a cardboard box. He heard it crying in the dumpster as he pushed it back into the warehouse this morning. We have feral cats all over outside the warehouse, and they've seen kittens. This one had weeping eyes that it could barely keep open, which is possibly why someone put it in the dumpster.

Brenna cleaned up it's eyes and bottle fed it -formula-, and we're finding it's sweet, easily handled, and not very skittish, loving the affection it's getting.

We may keep it. </div>

<div>The Lodge arrived today! This weekend comes the trial erection.

This is the picture I couldn't find before, showing the side-walls rolled up. I believe the one depicted is the 4-meter (13.1 feet). I received the 5-meter (16.375 feet). That measurement is within an octagon corner-to-corner though, so it's actually only 15' from wall-to-wall.

    </a>
<div>And I DO mean Amazed. I'm simply blown away every time many different intentions all fall into place at the same time, and in a serendipitous manner.

The Lodge
Our new Bell-Tent, including all the extras and the $200 shipping charges from Belgium, requires around a thousand dollars.

The Car
Either of my solutions for transportation require another thousand dollars (repairing the wagon's transmission, or purchasing my friend's "spare" car).

It's a "spare" car, by the way, because ever since he moved from Indiana, his work has provided a car. His partner was the only person who used it, and she just returned to Indiana. It's also the same make and model of one of my better running and enjoyable previous cars - '99 Cutlas.

The Ceremony
I wanted to put $500 into a savings fund for our Commitment Gathering in September.

And aside from monetarily, I also needed to confirm with everyone who will be in our ceremony. All seven involved are willing and excited about taking part in it, and I only need to confirm the date with two of them

So that's $2.5k I needed. Floating above the books.
Completely independant from my regular monthly budget.
And my sales commission this month was more than triple my own average, allowing me to accomplish all three of these feats, and then some!

Outback
I asked for a rideshare, or a gear-haul, and got both. Mark's coming Outback, and sharing a ride, and Costello's helping with a couple of our gear items, which also means we get to spend some time before the trip.

Cupcakes
We've been thinking of gourmet cupcakes for the commitment reception, rather than a large cake. I found a woman on yelp who recently began her own private business:
www.cupsandcakesbakery.com

She returned a call to me last night, even though it was 10:00, to let me know she had "extras" if we wanted to do a tasting. I met with her today, and upon my arrival, find that it's FRECKLED GIRL!!! Unbelievable. I hadn't seen her in about 2 years. And she makes some of the most delicious cupcakes I've ever tasted. Oh, So good.

Father's Day
I wasn't sure what I wanted to do for Pop tomorrow, until yesterday, when I read on the Cupcake site above, that she does a German Chocolate cupcake - this is Pop's FAVORITE. When she returned my call last night, with absolutely no prior notice (at 10 o'clock friday) she said she could do a dozen before our tasting meeting today. So I got a last minute, super-high-quality and ultra-delicious, couldn't-be-more-perfect treat to give Pop tomorrow.

And Tracy
I became conscious of the fact that I had not been thinking of my sister Tracy often. She died several years ago. I wanted to see her more often, to talk with her more often - within, of course. Sure enough, her name's been shown to me in the most impressing manners. Not your usual, other people I know named Tracy, or the City of Tracy type of occurance. More like written on the outer-most bill in a fold of money, or grafittied on a wall in the background of a political video clip online - the places I would NOT expect to see her name naturally.

I wanted to experience the feeling of my Sister more often, and boy, do I ever. It's also one week past the date of her birth. I usually am more conscious of her this time of year because of this, but without the other wildly circumstantial, seemingly super-natural occurances.

_____________________________________________

Everything here was set forth the begining of this month, but really only materializing over the past 3 days. And I'm just elated. When you have cinfidence that your intentions will manifest effortlessly - they DO.

Live with Intention, my friends. Know that you're creating everything you experience, and feel GOOD about it. Know that all you need to do is intend to be and to have what you desire, and you will. And revel in it.

Humbly,

I'm taking the day off in two weeks, on the 26th, to attend Pete Stark's periodical town-hall meeting in Union City, San Leandro, and Alameda.

I'll be urging him to support fellow member Dennis Kucinich's Articles of Impeachment. As My Representative to Congress, it's his responsibility to urge the Judiciary committee to review the evidence they've been presented.

I'm fairly certain that I'll be the only citizen there to make this request. Does anyone else in the 13th district wish to join me?

<div>Former 2008 Democratic Presidential Candidate Dennis Kucinich presented 35 Articles of Impeachment for Governor Bush earlier this week. http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Kucinich_presents_Bush_impeachment_articles_0609.html

Please tell me if you've actually seen this story covered in the mainstream media. I can tell you this, they're not publicizing it the way they did during their crucifiction campaign against Ol' Slick Willy.
_____________________________________________

Just a few days after his presentation of the Articles of Impeachment, Kucinich urged a Judiciary Committee to review them immediately.

Taken from:
http://rawstory.com/news08/2008/06/11/kucinich-judiciary-committee-must-begin-review-of-impeachment-articles/

“It is now imperative that the Judiciary Committee begin a review of the 35 articles,” said Kucinich. “I will be providing supporting documentation to the committee so that it can proceed in an orderly manner.

“The weight of evidence contained in the articles makes it clear that President Bush violated the Constitution and the U.S. Code as well as international law,” said the Ohio lawmaker, whose efforts to impeach Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney have been largely ignored by the mainstream media.

The House of Representatives approved Kucinich’s motion today to refer the articles of impeachment to the Judiciary Committee, chaired by Rep. John Conyers (D-MI). Kucinich said on Wednesday that he would meet with Conyers this week.

Conyers has yet to release a public statement on the motion, but has in the past not been supportive of impeachment efforts. The resolution to impeach Cheney, which Kucinich presented in April 2007, remains stalled in the committee he chairs.

“It is the House’s responsibility as a co-equal branch of government to provide an effective check and balance to executive abuse of power,” Kucinich continued in the statement. “President Bush was principally responsible for directing the United States Armed Forces to attack Iraq.

“I believe that there is sufficient evidence in the articles to support the charge that President Bush allowed, authorized and sanctioned the manipulation of intelligence by those acting under his direction and control, misleading Congress to approve a resolution authorizing the use of force against Iraq.

“As a result over 4,000 United States soldiers have died in combat in Iraq, with tens of thousands injured, many of them permanently impaired,” explained Kucinich. “Over a million innocent Iraqis have perished in a war which was based on lies, a war which will cost the American taxpayers as much as three trillion dollars.

The Ohio lawmaker said that it is now “incumbent” for the Judiciary Committee to review evidence he presented. He promised that if the committee failed to hold any hearings on the resolution within thirty days, he would repeat his efforts. He told one reporter Wednesday, “Leadership wants to bury it, but this is one resolution that will be coming back from the dead. … I will be bringing the resolution up again, and I won’t be the only one reading it.”

Kucinich closed in his statement, “We must not only create an historical record of the misconduct of the Bush administration, but we must make sure that any future administration is forewarned about the constitutionally proscribed limits of executive authority and exercise of power contravening the Constitution.”</div>

										<div>Hi Friends,

I'm placing an order for my own merchandise at the Let Love Happen store:
www.cafepress.com/letlovehappen

If anyone wants Let Love Happen gear, I'll include it with my order so that you receive shopkeeper pricing - about a 30% discount. I'll make no money on your goods - I just want to spread the love.

I won't be able to setup multiple delivery points though, so you would need to retrieve your items in person. I live in San Lorenzo (south of oakland). Or, perhaps there's a certain gathering we'll be attending together where I can get you your items.

check out the shop, let me know what you'd like. You can get any design on any item, so if there's a different design on the itme you want, let me know and I'll make the switch.

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/dub/blog/210bd525-8bce-492e-9e85-33caf402839e"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/52e/b79/52eb790d-17ee-4a8d-a9b1-760725d21614.thumb" width="65" height="22" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>Once again, a governmental agancy acts beyond their legal authority.

I got a traffic ticket for failing to stop prior to turning right at a red light. One of those automated, sent-in-the-mail deals with the photos and everything.

Rather than simply following instructions and sending them a check for $381.00, I actually read the law. Within the vehicle code, it states:

42001.15.
Every person convicted of an infraction for a violation of subdivision (a) or (c) of Section 21453, subdivision (c) of Section 21454, or subdivision (a) of Section 21457 shall be punished by a fine of one hundred dollars ($100).

Get that? One Hundred Dollars.

Also note, this division which includes the statutory limit for fines is in the 42 thousands, following the section which describes the infraction (21453) nearly 300 PAGES LATER in the vehicle code.

Of course, a PDF version of the vehicle code sure comes in handy when you need to locate those hidden divisions which pertain to the section for which you're accountable.

<div>Tonight in Oakland, on Claremont Avenue, at a little shack of a beer bar called The Kingfish, I'll be enjoying the blues styling of my favorite local band, my friends, Mojo Deluxe.

The funk will be in full effect at about 9:00

    </a>
<div>My Best Shot of Mars Yet. For a little treat, open the fullsize, dowload it, and open it in a picture viewer so you can zoom in on Mars. I just can't wait to see what I can do with another lens.

This shot was taken on the 24th. I didn't realize it until just now, but the previous in The Moon and Mars II was taken on the 23rd, not on the 22nd, the night of Yule. So these three pictures were taken on three consecutive nights.

On this night, I was in Tracy. There were no trees in the yard at my Aunt and Uncles recently built home, so I wasn't able to frame the shot. The atmospheric conditions ere much different - very dry and clear, which cut down on light refraction from both the Moon, which helps bring Mars out better.</div>

<div>Becase of the lighting, framing, composition, and the clouds just starting to creep in, the previous picture I posted of the Moon and Mars ended up being my favorite photographically.

However, I this is a better depiction of Mars. The lighting was much better for outlining the planet and showing it's size in relation to the moon.

I'll have one more coming up tomorrow which shows a good contrast in size, the way this one does, with a more clear, better focus on Mars.</div>

Rolling Stone Interviews Ron Paul on his Stance Against War

<div>Ron Paul: A Republican Takes the Lead Against the War
Tim DickinsonPosted Nov 14, 2007 7:06 AM
http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/17323345/ron_paul_a_republican_takes_the_lead_against_the_war

Rolling Stone:
What do you make of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and current U.S. posturing toward Iran?

PAUL:
He's a loudmouth, and he hurts their cause. But we help his cause when we gang up against him. When we pass sanctions against him, the dissidents in Iran who would like to get rid of him rally around him for nationalistic reasons.

We get hysterical over a guy who doesn't have a single weapon, and nobody's proven that he's ever violated the arms-nonproliferation treaty. Matter of fact, the International Atomic Energy Agency is going to have an agreement with him by the end of the year. That's why you have all of this warmongering going on: It is to try to find an excuse to start bombing him before they prove that he doesn't have a chance of having a weapon. That's exactly what we did with Iraq. I'm scared to death they're getting ready to do that with Iran.

Rolling Stone:
The Bush administration says Iran is supporting the Iraqi insurgency. How much can we trust that assessment?

PAUL:
About as much as what we heard about Iraq before the war. What was true about that? Very, very little, if anything. They're capable of telling us anything if they want to go to war. And that's what they want.

Whether the Iranians have helped the insurgency or not is almost irrelevant from my viewpoint. Why wouldn't they have an interest? It's like saying that if the Russians were in Mexico, we wouldn't have an interest in who wins that war. We'd have every right. They're the next-door neighbor.

Rolling Stone:
But the administration alleges that the Iranians aren't just backing the Shia against the Sunni — they are complicit in the slaughter of our soldiers.

PAUL:
I haven't seen any proof of that. They're assuming that it's true, but that's part of the war hysteria that's going on.

Rolling Stone:
Giuliani seems to be the warmonger in chief — leading the drumbeat for war with Iran. What would a Giuliani presidency mean for our national security?

PAUL:
If someone is unhappy with the Bush policy, they would find Giuliani's would be even more extreme. But since Giuliani is so anxious to go to war, somebody ought to ask him why he didn't go when he was called up instead of ducking it like some of those other chicken hawks — he took, what, four deferrals?

The kids today are expected to go because Giuliani likes this stuff. But whether it's Cheney or Giuliani, these guys think it's quite proper to go to war when they feel like it. But they never had to expose themselves.

Rolling Stone:
In a recent debate, you blasted Mike Huckabee for supporting the war, saying we're only staying in Iraq "to save face." But wouldn't leaving Iraq be a propaganda victory for bin Laden?

PAUL:
Everything is much worse if we stay. Right now they're very content to bleed us in Iraq. Bleed us financially and by killing Americans. We lose lives, we spend money we don't have, it furthers our financial crisis. The longer we're there, the stronger Al Qaeda gets. Our being there is the greatest incentive conceivable to help Osama bin Laden. The evidence is very clear. There's more Al Qaeda now than before. Which means we're in greater danger of being hit by terrorists than before.

Besides, who are the people telling us there'll be problems if we leave? The same ones who said it would be a cakewalk. What kind of credibility do they have?

Rolling Stone:
You talk about limiting the size of government. How much of the Pentagon's budget would you ax?

PAUL:
We are now spending close to a trillion dollars a year, when you add up every single thing we do overseas. You could start off easily cutting $100 billion. Bring the troops home, you could save $200 billion the next year. And maybe $250 billion the year after that.

Quit paying to blow up bridges in Iraq and then paying to rebuild them. Bring that money home. Our bridges are falling down. Our levees are falling down. The only way we can get enough money is by stopping this insane foreign policy of running this empire that we can't afford. Policing the world? It's impossible.

I say, just quit it. Let's come home. Bring the troops home. Quit spending the money. Get rid of selective service. Don't have the draft. And no more wars like this. It's a real tragedy and a real black mark on our record.</div>

To Govern

<div>"One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors." Plato

There is a serious imbalance among those reaching for positions of power. We, as open-minded, free-thinking, live-and-let-live people, do not want to be in such positions of power. It has very little appeal. We don't want to control the world, or other people's lives. We understand that power corrupts, and that absolute power corrupts absolutely. And so we reject power.

But for those who DO want to control the world - who want to control other people's lives - positions of power are VERY appealing. This is the cause of the imbalance. Most of those reaching for power are the ones who will do harm to our freedom, to our liberty, to our national sovereignty. And very few who reach for power would use it to defend freedom, defend liberty, and defend our national sovereignty. They have a philosophical belief that these things are not important. And so they compromise them, and influence us to sacrifice them.

If we, as a people, do not see this paradigm, we will continue to be governed by those currently leading us into tyranny.</div>

    </a>
<div>This is an excellent 45 minute talk given by Naomi Wolf, author of the recent book "The End of America ~ Letter of Warning to a Young Patriot".

She discusses events over the last six years here in America, and how they parallel steps taken in the early years of the 20th century’s worst dictatorships such as Germany, Russia, China, and Chile:
http://www.chelseagreen.com/tv

It's a very insightful talk, and I imagine the book is very well done, but I don't care for her use of the word "democracy". Althought we DO use a democratic process, America is not a quote-unquote "democracy" in the true sense of the word. We're a democratic "Republic". Unfortunately, nobody seems to realize the difference. </div>
