I hate blogging…

This is going to make me sound like a complete lunatic basket-case, and I'm fully aware of that.

I was reading the webcomic Player Vs. Player, (www.pvponline.com) as I am wont to do at this time on a Friday afternoon, despite my bosses not thinking it's the best use of my time. The artist (Scott Kurz) posted a special comic and blog entry in remembrance of his beloved basset hound, who died. (yesterday or this morning)

I've never met Scott Kurz. I've never met Kirby (the dog). But yet t... read more

Sometimes when I celebrate my birthday, I take a few moments to look at the lives of my parents at my current age. It certainly lends perspective to many things when I do…

At this age: both of my parents had already buried their fathers. Helps me to appreciate that mine's still around.
Both of my parents had mouths full of crowns. Not surprising that I need one, then, and helps me appreciate that at least I made it this age before needing one.

So, the holidays always remind me of the Muppets. There are many reasons for this, but here are the ones I think are the most prevalent:
•The closing of the Muppet Show had a symbol on it that always looked to me like a ribbon on a present.
•My favorite Christmas special ever was the Muppet Family Christmas, which aired… 1985? 1986? It's been released on DVD, but not in its entirety, which is a damn shame. I watched the "recorded off television" version so much that I nearly have it memori... read more

My dog had to be put down on Saturday. I know you're looking at the picture and thinking "That's a cat, dummy." Physiologically yes, he was a cat. He was a LOUSY cat… great dog, though.

The fierce independence everyone expects from a cat – he had zero of it. He was fiercely DEpendent. Slave to his routine as well. He knew my routine well enough that he would wake me if I forgot to set the alarm. It wasn't that he was my shadow, he would lead me through my morning routine, one step ahead wh... read more

So much to say…

Re: Moderator jokes (in Adult Swim) I was going to say "Imagine it's being narrated by Meatwad…"

Meatwad always thinks he has important things to say. Not that what he says isn't important… it's the most entertaining part of the show that isn't Carl.

Re: Shoe recomendations? (in Tribal Costuming) I go to DiscountDance.com and go to the listings for "modern shoes" and buy a pair of the half-sole sandals. I use these for practices and performances.

I have a hard enough time turning with shoes on, let alone barefoot. Plus I have psoriasis ... read more

Preparing for the Holidays (in Weight Loss for Belly Dancers) I did this last year, so I'll put it up again. Sorry I missed Halloween.

Tips for surviving the holidays, not overeating, staying active, etc. If you have tips, add them in.

Here's mine:
If you like to try everything, get one small spoon of... read more
