Housemate Needed in the Mission!
Hey everyone,One of my housemates is moving out and we need a replacement! The room is $500 and is kind of small, but is located in the Mission. We are on 22nd and San Jose (which is pretty much Valencia). It's a cute little apartment with a nice kitchen and cozy living room space (that's kind of shared with the kitchen space).
The other two roommates are myself and Tim. We are both very fun, chill, open, honest and loving people. We are looking for no drama, no big time tv watchers, and people who are playful and willing to communicate with the people they are living with.
If you or anyone you know is looking for a place starting February 1st, please pass this on to them and contact me ASAP! We can chat and share more details.
Thanks!
Patti
happy man burning....
i've put up my tribute to burning man picture! me in 2006 out there! i'll be missing it again this year (same as last) but heading to ashland, or instead. camping out in some green land near some water and checking out a potential new home! we're staying in a teepee with a fire pit outside and will likely burn our own little man to be celebrating with y'all!so if you're going out to la playa this year, have a GREAT burn! and if you're choosing to do something else this year (like many people i know are!), have a GREAT time doing that!
see on the other side of this week!

two cats need a good home...
I am posting this for my brother who lives up by Sacramento. He is moving to Texas and has a new 6 mos. old and he and his wife can't handle two cats as well as the baby and moving and setting up a new home (especially since they'll be in an apartment for the first few months). The two cats are sisters. They are 6 years old and very sweet and playful cats. They have had their front paws de-clawed. They are up to date on all their shots.
My brother has been searching where he was living before for a while now and has not found them a good home and is arriving in SF tomorrow (Thursday) with them and needs to give them away.
They have to go together. They have to be indoor cats. Those are the two conditions. We just want them to have a good home. We're starting to be afraid that they will be put down if we can't find them a home by tomorrow and we have to give them to somewhere that can't find them a place soon enough.
So if you are interested or know anyone who is and can give these two a nice, happy home, please contact me via message and I will pass on his number so you can contact him.
Thanks so much!
on the road again...
We are heading right now into Washington DC. Freshly showered at a truck stop…hurray! Last night was our show in New York and it went pretty well. We had kind of a quiet crowd and the lights were not that great as far as focus and all of that. But it worked out well in the end. The tech guy there was cool and it good having someone cool to chat with during the reception – which I have become great at hiding from.New York was amazing! I love it there. Not enough to move there, but enough to go back many times and wander around. The subway system rocks and everyone was super nice. Lots happening there always. I had a great time.
It was nice to have a little break from the touring and working. It’s really a lot more than I imagined in certain ways. But it’s also a lot of fun still. Although I am ready to come home too. We went through Central Park and I’ve been through soho and a little of the village and well as much of new York as I could. Great place!
David came in on Saturday and we all went out to yet another fancy dinner. Delicious. I’m getting spoiled rotten on this trip here! It’s crazy! Sunday we went and saw The Lion King. Fucking spectacular. That’s all I can say. I was blown away. The production was just spectacular! Followed by a performance by Mike Daisey…which was funny, but I was so sleepy, I ended up being one of the horrible audience members that fall asleep.
Great time in New York overall and the tour is still going well. We are back on the road today and will soon be schmoozing with members of congress. Should be interesting…
aaand...
don't forget I've got a photo blog that I'm keeping up to date too...Check it out here:

new york baby...
We hit new york yesterday afternoon. This is my first time here. It's a crazy amazing place! I'm staying at a hotel on Broadway. Right on Broadway and 55th. Down the street are all the big broadway theaters (cool!!) and a few blocks away is central park and times square. It's all actually pretty awesome!Walked through Central Park yesterday and it is freaking amazing!! GG Park pales in comparison. It's HUGE and beautiful and there are tons of people everywhere and SO much happening there. I was blown away. I love this park! And the part of the city I'm in is simply great!
I'm excited to be here! And to not have to actually work until Monday. A break is nice. And it was lovely to have a hotel room...all alone last night. The bus is super fun and wonderful, but it's also nice to not be around everyone else in a tiny space constantly.
David flies in later today and I'll be meeting up with him! Yay!
And a broadway musical tomorrow!
Today, I'm off to shower (not in a truck stop!) and meet up with some others from our group and hit downtown.
Heading to Chicago...
Wow, this is only day three on the bus, but it already feels like a very long time! It's been interesting...Yesterday we had our first shower at a truck stop. It was an interesting experience. Kind of fun. Then we headed in to Kansas City, MO. We got to the theater and set everything up. I had a very cute tech guy helping me who was also extremely experienced (even at 25) and really nice and helpful. It went together smoothly and by 4:00 we were ready for some food. We wandered around (on foot) and long story short, we walked one way and then another and eventually found something and by 6:00 we scarfed food down before changing into our clothes for the evening. The show went well...the lights looked good and Mark did well.
After, we went to dinner....and WOW. We ate at this super fancy restaurant that stayed open for our group. By the end of the evening I had eaten smoked salmon salad, wild boar sausage, crab cakes, giant prawns and beef ternderloin pizza. We also had a 1989 bottle of red wine...some super fancy stuff. All of this, of course for me, was free. It was phenomenal food!! Simply delicious.
The bus came and picked us up at the restaurant and Mark pulled out his guitar and harmonica and there was some good music being played and songs being sung. After everyone was in bed, I went up front with Jim and smoked a cigarette as the lightening in the sky got brighter and brighter. More frequent. Until it was dumping buckets of rain and there were lighting bolts streaming across the sky. We bucked up as Jim said this was tornado weather.
I sat up front until about 3:30 this morning watching the lightening and talking with Jim. He's been hired by some guys the last three years to go to burning man. So the bus I'm on has been out to burning man the last three years. He likes it a lot and we chatted a bunch about the experience and how cool it is that he gets paid to go....they buy his ticket and food and everything and pay him for his services on top of that. Jim's a cool guy.
Everyone on the bus is getting along great. There's been a few small tension-filled moments here and there, but they've been pretty minimal.
So now after our morning truck/shower stop, we are heading to Chicago. Just about entering it soon already as I type. After the show tonight, we leave for New York. We should be there by tomorrow afternoon and we'll then have the rest of Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday to just relax and do whatever we want to do in New York. Off to the Lion King with me and David.
I'm looking forward to sleeping in a bed. The little bunks are actually pretty comfy, but they are very small...not for the claustrophobic for sure!
Alrighty...off to watch us pulling into Chicago....
I can't believe it's not even been a week yet! Wow!
Houston to Austin
I'm sitting on my tour bus on the way to Austin. It's day three. The Houston stop went very well and very smoothly. With one minor technical issue at the beginning of the show, it went great. There's a lot of work to do with the set up and break down of the show. The director has added this whole soil element to the tour and quite frankly it's a huge pain in the ass. It's turned into a huge ordeal that I don't want anything to do with, but since he's the director, I don't have much of a choice. That's probably the most frustrating of the whole thing.
The winery people on the tour are AWESOME! Really great people. It's nice to work with people who actually help with things. And they're goofy and fun and playful. I love it.
The first two nights I spent in a fancy little hotel. But from here on out, I'm on the bus. Showering at truck stops and sleeping in this super tiny bunk. Oh what fun it shall be.
But it is great so far! More updates soon......
