Sometimes life is a wonderous thing.

<div>Although it is too early to hear a heartbeat, Ken and I got to see our little one again last Monday. It was yet another relief for me. Just knowing that I really do have a child growing inside me makes whatever I have to go through worth while.

Ken had a better view of the screen than I did, but he got to see our child kicking. (At least that is what the doctor told us.) He says he could clearly see an apendage moving. It warms my heart to know that our child is alive and well.

Everything seems to be going well. My blood pressure is under control, I have lost some weight, and the baby is alive and kicking.

What more could I really as for at this time?

You will have to excuse me, I am off to do the Snoopy Dance for a bit. (It seems that everything is on track for a good outcome this time.)</div>

My fears and worries were correct...

<div>Unfortunately my fears and worries this time were not unfounded.

Ken and I will not be parents in the first few months of next year. My body is in the process of going through a miscarriage. *sniff sniff* They believe I had suffered from a blighted ovum. Which means that we had a fertilized egg, but there was something wrong with it. (Most of the time is something chromosomal.) My body figured that part out and the egg does not develop, but the gestational sac has already started to grow - so it and the placenta continue to grow until the body catches on.

There is a ton of information out there - just Google blighted ovum and you will have more information that you ever cared to know.

Anyhow, I am not giving up on becoming a partent. This is just a setback to those plans.</div>

How does one not worry?

<div>Ok.. So being pregnant for the first time presents a whole bunch of new challenges for me as someone with anxiety issues. How do you not worry about every little twinge.. So far I have done pretty good. I promised myself I wouldn't get all worried about every little sneeze. Some days it is just hard.

Just my thoughts at the moment....

An Amazing Thing...

<div>Ok.. so the time had come in my life to think about having a family. My husband and I had talked it over and we decided that it was something we did want to do. There would never be a perfect time. There is always some excuse to put it off - I need to finish school, we don't have enough money, I want to loose weight.. and more.

We decided that we would just have to make it the right time and life would adjust accordingly. We couldn't wait forever or it would never happen. So, I talked to my doctors and found out what I would need to do about medications I was on.

Ok.. so the waiting and trying begins. Not that it isn't fun practising. Low and behold we must have done something right. An amazing thing happened and it turns out that I am pregant with my first child. Image

Although this was planned and expected, I have entered into a whole new world. I am excited and scared all at the same time. I thought it would take us much longer to conceive. I am happy it didn't, but I am still kindof in shock and awe over the while thing.

It is amazing to know that inside of me is growing a tiny human that will join us early next March. For now I am doing good and enjoying being amazed at life like a child would be.

I am sure I will post more from time to time. Off to ponder that I am going to be a mom.
