Sparkler poi, Summer Solstice '07, High Park, Toronto, ON
One from the "don't try this at home, kids" files - sparklers attached with packing tape to twine, make slipknot, loop around finger, spin like "real" poi until one of the sparklers goes flying off and the dog tries to retrieve it. (He stopped after about two feet and I picked it up, but still.) It looked great for a DIY hack while it lasted, though!
