"There's a kind of a hush"

   Wed, February 18, 2009 - 6:32 PM
all over. Reading friends blogs (the few that are posting) are showing the strain of the Universal Holding of Breath. With so little money, many plans have been canceled.....or put on temporary hold. Waiting to see if we can save up some money, use a rebate check, tax refunds, or our 'mad" money. We, wisely or not, hang on to what cash we do have. No, friend's it's not much fun. And it's going to be an arduous task to try and regain the American Dream. We now know we need to be aware of who is "holding" the dough, where it's going, and call the Fat Cat"s on each and every move. I don't know how to do this. But I'm barking, I'm pissed, and my teeth are bared. We are tired, but not dead. We have the responsibility and duty to stop this cancer before it spreads any further. If not for us, than for our children. I believe I've used this before but it does need repeating: 'I'M MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!" I didn't hear any windows opening the last time I said this, but I threw open the door and yelled my head off. We, the People, need take a more active approach and call out loud and clear...."I'M FRIGHTENED AND MAD! YOU HAVE ABUSED THE POWER WE TRUSTED YOU WITH AND I'M TAKING THAT POWER BACK!" I don't care if it's a bumper sticker, a "sandwich board", or getting together with friends and discussing. We, the People, became complacent. We, the People, have to fix this. Now.....go to your damn window and SCREAM!

www.youtube.com/watch does this sound familiar???

www.youtube.com/watch oh yes, they were and can be again

"Descent is the highest form of patriotism"

Thomas Jefferson

Jefferson felt it was the duty of citizens to let their government know what they did not like. This country was founded on descent and protest. Now both are considered to be "unAmerican" and unpatriotic. I loved the sixties, people all over the nation marched, sat in, blockaded buildings and streets. Citizens let the government and fellow citizens know what their opinion was. The government and society changed. The Vietnam war was ended, music, art, and people were changed. We need to begin to take our country back from Wall Street, politicians, oil companies, bankers, advertising agencies, insurance companies, and mortgage brokers. Its our country, our government, our economy.

My good man Sparky.
Let's not leave the politicians out of this "mad as hell" equation. This whole situation was started by government meddling, years ago. It is just now coming to fruition. And there is NOBODY in Washington D.C. with the intelligence to clean up the mess. It will take time, and adding three trillion dollars to the national debt is not going to do it. I'm glad I'm old. I don't want to see this place in 50 years. Luvya Bounty.

Sparky, that's dissent.

I haven't been posting because I've been sick for a week.

And neither dissent nor protesting are unAmerican. We do, however, have to come up with a better answer than, "This sucks." Protesting is too often just that. There are certainly a number of problems in our nation, but the way to fix them is to work together toward the solutions, not just whine about them. Who you vote for and how you vote will contribute more than just protesting.

Turn off the Television. Go outside. Met your Friends.
Shop less at Walmart. Drink less Pepsi. Buy only Fries at McDonalds. Walk farther each day and not drive.
Spend more at Farmers Markets. Spend half on your next pair or jeans and 1/2 on your next Latte. Eat more Fruit.

If I can add some links where there's intelegent, not opinionated, facts about what's happened and why, I will.
I've been digging and the more I dig, the more shit I find.
I want to be sure of what I'm finding so I look for more. You know, so'n'so says this and another so'n'so disagrees.
