about me
I’ve been living in Seattle since 2000 and consider it my hometown. I work as a balloon artist, carnival talker and MC and am proud to say that performance is the only way I make my living… or in carny speak “I don’t have a straight job” tough to do in a city where it rains six months out of the year.
During the winter I read every book, and watch every movie that has anything to do with my professional interests… on occasion I even draw comics for www.sideshowworld.com having to do with carnival and circus history. I’m always interested in seeing the latest show by any number of performance troupes in the Seattle area and naturally I love meeting local personalities and fellow performers. I have my own web site (of course) so if any one is interested in seeing and learning more about me they can check out www.seattleballoonguy.com also a good place to check out my up coming appearances and/or public events.

Some weeks ago I was reunited an old friend of mine, Niki, who runs Mobius Cycle down town. A few weeks after that I was invited to enter a large balloon sculpture in the opening show for her new gallery/art space The Bookatorium, a 6000 square foot loft space beneath the bike shop. Subsequent to my comments on attendance that night (I.E. what I would have done differently to get more people involved) I was asked to become The Bookatoriums new event coordinator. The first thing Niki did upon ...

A few weeks ago I was reunited with one of my very dear friends, Niki Hurley, who now owns Mobius Cycle down town on 1st. Many years ago I helped her start mobius cycle by coming up with the name and drawing the logo; when Niki found out I am now twisting balloons for a living she asked if I'd put that same creativity to work by entering a sculpture in and performing for the gala opening of her new art gallery.

Gallery... well that may not be the right term... it's more of a "space." A spa... read more
I’m very happy to report that I was hired again this year by UCC, the United Church of Christ, to conceive and build a large balloon sculpture for their entry in the Seattle pride parade. Last years entry was a float decorated by a large balloon depiction of god (that’s Jehovah the Judeo-Christian god) emerging from the clouds and speaking into a megaphone… this year it was decided we go with something much simpler so I came up a 40’ long rainbow dragon made mostly out of round balloons with ...
