I want to say something of Kay and her newest book, Strange Bedfellows" - A Cautionary Tale for Times of Global Change. I have not read this book yet although I plan to. I also plan to order a book that she wrote that will help me journal my perimenopause experience in a date book! And she has offered from her big heart a portion of the profits for this book Strange Bedfellows to benefit some of the women's work that I am holding down as a visionary ~ Red Tent Temple Movement, Women's Belly and Womb Conferences, Daughters of the Earth Gatherings, .... to begin with.
So Kay.
It is I believe 2002 but the years go here and there so quickly that I cannot be sure. I am on a touring bus with a group of people that I will be with for some weeks led by Kay's partner. We are in England and will be going to ancient stone sites of Avesbury, Stonehenge and more. We will also go to Glastonbury where we will be singing with Shawna Carol, opening the wonderful Goddess Conference that happens there every summer.
I know Kay but not well at that time yet as she was like a present that I had not opened up yet. She is quiet but actually when you get to know her, very loud inside. She is now one of the teachers that I bring together for Daughters of the Earth Gathering and her class (as I knew it would) was so jammed packed last summer with women that they did feel like sardines in the space. They were eager to learn from her because she speaks from a deep well on things that matter most to us women.
Anyhow, I am on this busride and we find ourselves together for some hours. Well, one thing about Kay is that when you have the time to find out what she knows, what she is thinking, what is important to her, you discover that she is holding gems, literally. I sat in complete rapture while she explained to me in living color about sacred geometry, history, possibility with true promise, all with a passion that was breathtaking to behold. And there is this gleam in her eye all the while. I felt transported. But then when the ride came to a destination, when my last question was asked, there she was again, with still the gleam in her eye, ready, anticipatory of all the magic that life absolutely brings, being the quiet woman with glasses among many talkative people. E xcept now I knew who walked in her. And now it is easy to see into the wild, raw, churning, loving, compassionate sacred places of this deep, intelligent and spiritual woman in the years that have followed.
I don't know what is in this book but I can pretty much tell you that this woman harbors some riches and one might pass them by not thinking that it is important. Knowing Kay, I think truthfully, she wouldn't write it if it didn't offer us a kind of map, some liberation, and a hell of a lot to reflect on although this is not to say that she is not really fun too. She has an awesome sense of humor. I will read it and let you know for sure but these are my present suspicions.
Ya Kay, speak to us woman, because we are the humans enduring times of global change.
This tale comes from a dream. I do believe that she indeed is one who gets spoken to! Hey maybe I will put this on her testimonial site.
