I'm a long-time traveller of this continent. My 7th Great Grandfather came from Scotland, and settled outside of what is now Boston. He established a ranch for the King's Army. His son went on to join the Colonial Army, and die a Sergeant in the Revolutionary War. His son (My 5th Great Grandfather) was a famed Bear Trapper attributed with the feat of trapping some 50 bears in his life. This included two who terrorized the township of Boston. If you ask me, the bear was probably tired of all those cityfolk shitting in his woods. This same 5th Great Grandfather of mine spent much time away playing with the local natives. The generations after him introduced French and Blackfoot lineages into our Scottish bloodlines.

On my Mother's side of the tree: My Great Grandparents (who I was privileged to know for several years as a youngster) moved to Colorado from Oklahoma, and raised my Grandmother there. They established a small store on Main Street of Downtown Durango, Colorado. My Mother and I were both birthed in that beautiful, little mountain town. Now, Durango is as busy as anything I've seen in Berkeley, Santa Cruz or Aspen.

I live in the desert of New Mexico (again, after 10 years), and enjoy getting onto the Navajo Reservation. A little respect goes a very long way....
