My Recent Activity

Arab Flemenco Workshopm, with Karine Butchart on the 17th of May (in Bellydance UK) My teacher recommended this workshop with Karine, its open level so suitable for Beginners and intermediate.
I have only ever done one other Arab/Flemenco fusion workshop before, and absolutely loved it, it was sassy, and fun.
Is any one else on... read more

Re: A Letter From A Stupid Woman (in Arabian Love Poems) I will check out those books, i'm sure i've heard of "Beyond the veil" but have not read it yet.
A good book that i have read twice is "Burned Alive by Souad, it gave a very sad insight into a woman's life in the West Bank, and the terrible price... read more

Re: Dancer's Feet (in Makeup and Hair for Dancers) Just tried out a foot cream that i got in the Lloyds pharmacey, its called "Efasit" intensive moisture balm, it has natural jojoba, and rosemary oils, and i felt a real difference after just one use, it smells yummy!

My Blog

It only seems a few weeks ago that i was still wearing a jacket, and the evenings were chilly, but thankfully the last week has seen some stunning weather.
It will take a little while for us all to get used to it (as not being used to heat i get tired quickly), but i'm hoping the weather stays warm, and sunny long enough to get used to it, and enjoy it. So please...rain and cloud stay away, let us have a summer this year....pretty pleassseeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think one of the reasons we... read more

My 12 year old son has been chatting to a 14 girl in New York that he met on Teen Spot, and i found pics of her in a little pink G-string, and bra posing in a very adult manner.
I feel quite queasy, and whilst i'm annoyed she shared this with my son, i'm concerned that she may be doing this for adult males too, she is only a child herself.
I really do not know what to do, my son is not allowed to have contact with her anymore, but i'm concerned about the girls behaviour too, and what troubl... read more

My fourth washing machine, in 12 years has died on me. Thankfully i have the use of my best friends machine untill i sort out a new one (am praying i don't knacker that one out too!).
It wasn't a naff one either, it was a top of the range Bosch, recommended after 2 Hotpoints, and 1 Whirlpool died on me too, they said oh yeah what you want is a Bosch, "my mum had one for over 10 years", "oh yeah my aunt had hers for 12", ... read more

Any parent in the U.K always gives a knowing smile of horror, when you mention taking the kids for their half term/Xmas holiday/summer holiday foot measurement, and school shoe trip to the Clarks Shoe shop's, Childrens Department.

I was reminded yesterday why.

Its not the pricey footwear that makes me break a sweat, i happen to think its worth paying a little extra to ensure my kids don't end up with mangled feet from poorly fitting shoes, no its the sight of a living room size area, fi... read more

I went outside of my comfort zone tonight and attended a Belly Dance Class in Reading, instead of my local one in Basingstoke, and was amazed at how much i learned just by doing it somewhere different, and with different people.

I love the Wednsday evening classes, and the Thursday mornings, and i love to dance with the people i have become familiar with, but i relised how lazy and complacent i had become.
Tonight watching new people dance that i've never seen before, all with their own q... read more
