Hi, I'm a fiction writer living in the mountains in Monchique in the Algarve, Portugal. I was in academia for ten years in the UK before my escape but still teach online fiction courses.
I studied in London (Russian Lang & Lit) and Norwich (MA in creative writing) but before that lived and worked in Japan and Russia - I used to speak both languages but they've rusted up due to lack of use. I've also spent time in the States and used to live in Berlin when there was a Wall around it. I'm interested in politics, philosophy and religion. I am not a believer but I'm fascinated (and concerned) by the conflicts between differents faiths and the effects of believing.
