As most of you know, our son Sequoia has autism. He is challenging the system, as those of us who are unique always do. He is beautiful and creative. His teacher is cool. We talk a lot. He is open to suggestions. I think that the spectrum children's school system should be planned by and include adults with autism or at least have the influence of people who understand the minds of children with autism a bit better. I always ask at our annual IEP meetings if anybody has asked the adult autistic community for guidance, since they seem to be guessing at what Sequoia and his classmates need to be the best that they can be.
