My Blog

Our show for 2009 is a pan - ethnic exploration of Goddess Archetypes. We'll be using sculptural elements, archetypal research and modern improvisatonal forms to create a canvas of movement, life and the beauty of dance.

Our inspiration for this show is post modernist conceptions of truth and reality and the implications of discoveries of the new physics.

I'll be conducting research in Egypt and Greece to collect photos, video, text and other cultural artifacts.

Al Amar Dance Theatre will host a workshop with Jalilah on June 14 and 15, 2008.
At Dance Saskatchewan Studios
Cost; $75 / day or $150 / 2 Days (early bird price)

Unfortunately, this workshop was cancelled due to a scheduling conflict. We hope to bring Jaliliah to Saskatoon in the near future.

Al Amar Dance Theatre will be performing at the Persian New Year Celebration in Saskatoon at the Radisson Hotel on March 22, 2008.

We've also been invited out to Kerrobert for a Women's Gathering on April 26, 2008.

Come out to see Al Amar Dance Theatre performing every Friday and Saturday night at Koutouki Taverna restaurant in Saskatoon.

The food is great, the ambiance is very mediteranean and the belly dance is FANTASTIC!
