Getting Healthy

So I have made a committment to myself to change the way I eat and to lost weight and just generally improve my health. Mat and I joined Gold's Gym about two weeks ago, and I think it was the best thing we could ever have done. We have been meeting with personal trainers, and they have been setting us up on a workout routine, and teaching us how to eat healthy. Since we started I have been in the gym 3-4 times a week doing cardio and weight training, and I feel great except for some soreness. I have lost 10 lbs!! Eating healthy has been a little bit of a challenge, but now my body craves the healthy stuff, and even the smell of greasy fattening stuff makes me nauseous. And its so much easier then I thought it would be. Eating whole grains, reduced fat, and lots of fruits and veggies is about the gist of it. That and no more Mt Dew...that was hard but now it tastes awful to me.

My goals are:
To lost about 10 more lbs ( I want to fit size 6 pants again)
Gain muscle and tone, esp in the abs and glutes
Be able to run on the treadmill for an hour without having to stop cause I can't breathe
Most importantly I want to prepare my body , for pregnancy, since we are planning to start trying in Jan/Feb

So yeah. Hopefully all this working out will help with my dancing too, giving me the muscles to power the moves, and making me look better doing them.

Frustration

I haven't been dancing (other then to workout DVDs at home alone) for awhile and its getting to me. The troupe can't seem to get its act together, and to be honest I am not sure I want to continue, as I am not too into the style they do anymore. I am not into the bouncy egyptian/turkish or folkloric stuff anymore, and I am REALLY not feeling the ren faire type stuff. I like ren faires, but the three million layers look just doesn't do it for me.

I have fallen in love with Rachel Brice and the Indigo, and that style of dancing. I want to study ATS, perhaps join a tribe/troupe that does that style. I am also getting way into the fusion style, and have put together a costume for it that I am quite proud of, the only part not done is the belt. I will post pics when its all done. It consists of Melo black mini pants, an all coin black bra layered over a black velvet bra, a yarn belt that I am making out of jewel tone purple, teal black and silver fabric and yarn, black mesh arm warmers and teal black and purple hair flowers. Now just need to find performance opportunities to show it off.

So...yeah. Kinda frustrated at the lack of dancing. I guess its kinda my own fault, with the wedding I kinda fell off the planet for awhile, but I am back to it now. And dang it, I want people to do it with!!

In other news, I am very proud of myself, Mat and I joined a gym (Gold's) and I have been going consistently 2-3 times a week. We have also started eating healthy, and cutting out soda and fattening fastfood...kinda funny now the smell or thought of Mcdonalds makes me naueseated. I have lost about 10lbs so far. So I feel better and have so much more energy.
