whats could be worse than writing a choreography and then finding you can't do one of the turns ?
having four of those turns all in a row ?
knowing that it looks easy so all the work going into it wont be appreciated by the audience ?
or catching your shoe on your big toe nail and lifting it off the bed !!!?

when it stops bleeding I guess I need to get back to practicing and see if my plaster sticks to the kitchen floor.

these blinking turns had better look good on the night !!!!

Owwie! Owwie! Owwie!
I'm all in favour of choreography as a learning tool. And I fully believe that once you've had the chance to practise that ******* turn a few hundred times (once your toe has recovered), you will master it.

However, I decided a while ago, that one of my rules of choreography is that it has to look good, and if I really can't do [insert move of choice, or rather deliberately avoiding that choice], then there's no point looking bad & ruining the rest of the routine.

Do you have the possibility of changing that turn?

I'm getting it about 1/2 the time now and decided that its better done three times with a change on the fourth.... although the music repeats later and I want to do it again there (with a change of arms)...
so if I practice all day tomorrow and all day friday...

I was doing fine til P said "are you not worried you might do it again or step on it or something", then I went all delicate and decided to stop for the day.

See that sounds more choreographically interesting, anyway! Necessity = Mother of Invention... Things happen for a reason... Mutter mutter mutter, platitude platitude platitude...

'This year I will learn how to turn'
that's my mantra too...

turns, spins... the horror.. the horror ( esp on a small stage with a big drop!)

EEEWwwww
owwie. Good for u on being so determined. Agree on the turns on small stages the number of professional performer friends that end up banging their head and ... doesnt bear the thought. Whats the choreography for?

Celebrating dance - end of October, although I might give it an outing in a simpler form this weekend at a Hafla

In theory I do have two clear days to practice, so it might be polishedup. It depends how focused I can be.
