Well, it's official... I'm moving to San Diego this weekend! It took awhile to finalize everything but it's all settled now, and I'll start my new job May 5th! I flew out last weekend and found a basic apartment in the ritziest area of La Jolla, a block from Children's Beach (home of many very smelly and cute baby seals). I thought I'd write a quick note in honor of my wonderful cat Marcel, who left us early yesterday morning. He and my pup Bungee woke me in the wee hours and I found him at the bottom of the stairs unable to use his back legs or tail. I rushed him to the emergency vet, and it turned out he had a blood clot in his spine, and by the time we got there, his feet were already getting cold. The doctor said his prognosis was very slim, and since he was in a great deal of pain, we decided to help h...

Okay, I'm not in Kansas, but I'm really glad I'm NOT on the road any more!! The family all did a caravan down to Peoria IL for my niece's college graduation, and it was quite the adventure!

Friday: Drove through the thickest fog I've ever seen! the 7 hour drive took about 9 or 10 hours and I now know the blessing of in-car navigation systems. Today's my 3 month bandiversary, and I'm officially down 50 lbs total (38 since surgery). Boy, does that feel GOOD! I've had one small adjustment as of last week, and it's made a big difference in how quickly I fill up. I'm feeling pretty optimistic that another 10 lbs will be gone by Xmas.

Have a great day everyone! Hope you're all having fun and spooking coworkers and friends!! I'll be doing my best to spook neighborhood children at my sister's house, along with my construction-worker labradoodle. Sis's pooch is will be lounging about as a mermaid. Have fun!!
