Mark likes robots, and so do I. Mark likes electronic music, and so do I. Mark likes weird movies most people have never heard of, and so do I. Mark lives approximately 3.5 miles away from me. Yet, I rarely see Mark these days and that's sad. The fact is Mark is one rad dude whose offhand comments lighten up any social gathering and who can readily share a vast knowledge of all sorts of crazy things. Plus he dresses like we are living in the year 3030 aboard a space station and that's just plain awesome! I suspect not hanging out much is Mark's Bizarro world version of hanging out alot. Someday Mark will rule this puny planet. I hate the groovies.

So, I am going to these cool little gatherings of people and I keep seeing this cool guy sitting around making everyone laugh. For some reason I never ever get a chance to talk to him. Then one day someone is like, "oh yeah, Mark makes ambient music" - and I was like, "WTF? Why have I never talked to him?"

Whenever people ask me what kind of music I dj or listen to I usually get a blank look and uncomfortable silence when I say "ambient music". Mark was that rare individual who (ever so casually) responded, "Tetsu Inoue? Yeah, I love him."

Just like that! Like Tetsu Inoue was a household name. Man, Mark - you rule!

Mark is an extremely creative guy as well as a thoughtful individual with passionate opinions. Anyone who can work with an elite "performance artist" like Laurie Anderson (as Mark has done in the past) must be one heck of a creative multimedia and musical monster. I appreciate Mark's musical side (which is the side I've been most exposed too). He is a truly gifted and inventive designer / creator / manipulator of sound.
