As some may know, Del Martin, one of the “Mothers” of the gay rights movement died recently at 87. The radio station I listen to is KNPR – Public Radio. They were replaying a recording of her and her partner Phyllis Lyon that was recorded in 1992. She and Phyllis were married this year after being partners for 49 years. You know, I really love where I live. It was 104 today with 8% humidity. I was walking into work and had to stop, close my eyes and raise my face to the sun. I love the play of the light over my closed eyelids, the heat of the sun on my skin, the warmth that spreads through my whole body. Mmmm. Sometimes I guess things aren’t meant to be. I thought that when you owned your own place it was your decision and no one else’s what you had in it. But, no, turns out that an HOA (Home Owner’s Association for those of you lucky enough to not know what that is) can tell you what you can and can’t own.
