I took a week or so in February where I eliminated soy, dairy and wheat. It's nearly impossible to do without preparing everything yourself. You can't eat out. Things like soups, salads, and healthy-seeming foods have hidden soy bean oil, dairy additives, or wheat-based fillers. Soy lecithin is in nearly every prepared food you can think of. 2 cubes frozen home-made pesto
2ish cups leftover cooked kasha (buckwheat)
olive oil
1 clove chopped garlic
2 T. raw sunflower seeds
small handful chopped fresh parsley
Warm the pesto with the kasha and a little olive oil in a saucepan stirring until the pesto has coated the kasha. Saute garlic in a little hot olive oil until just golden & add to kasha, stir in sunflower seeds and parsley.

Happy New Year! Z and I took a lovely trip to Pittsburgh for the Sabres-Penguins game at the Mellon Arena "Igloo". We have gone to the annual Penguins-Sabres games in Buffalo for the last few years, and this year, since it wouldn't be guaranteed to get seats, we decided to take the little road trip. I've been in a better state of mind - finishing things, seeing projects through on many fronts. And I'm making some good changes. Z & will be starting yoga this weekend at a local studio, something neither of us have done before. Hopefully it will be weekly for a long time.
