I am not really entirely sure what happened.....i remember driving for a long time, then stopping at the Vulcan and seeing a bunch of amazing people again, as well as celebrity spinners just walking around. Maybe it was the beer, maybe it was awe of being at the Vulcan again, but it wasn;t until Greg started pointing and naming where people were from that it hit me....I'm going to FireDrums As i was driving up the curvy mountain road, getting closer and closer, we pass a red truck, stopped at the turn off and i see someone staffing....not only that but CONTACT staffing! Unfortunatly i didn;t notice him until i had passed him and would have had to slam on the breaks....thats the point that i got REALLY excited. I remember getting there and not really seeing any one. Me and my friend pitch our tent and get all set up and it's not very long before more and mroe cars start coming in. After walking around a bit i found the red truck (which i found out Adam and Nick were the drivers) and got to hang out, staff, and talk staff with them for a while which was a new experience for me. Very cool guys, unfortunatly this is the part where my camera ends up in Nick's truck....for the rest of the trip...haha. I little later on i grabbed my staff and was going to head to the "Main Play: area that i had heard about. On my way over there....OMG another contact spinner....and he's good. I watch this guy for a little bit before he notices me then we introduce ourselves and geek out a bit on staff. Brandon and I then headed down to the play area where shortly after, a whole circle of contact staff spinners formed. It was a very sureal moment that I never really thought would happen but it was like we all just connected. Friday was workshops......fun fun. I learned a lot and got to help some people with staff stuff and that was pretty cool Friday night fire was fun. I spun mediocre my first time then i had my super heavy staff the next time. Actually I saw Chains, who i had also finally met, before dipping and made a comment about unfortunatly not having my good staff. But i went out there, started with from my view a sweet burn off and just let it flow. I was entirely feeling the drums and things went really well. Felt like a great spin and i had a couple of REALLY good saves...haha. Saturday was intence, noel and MCP had their workshops which filled my brain to max capacity and i was already sore, bruised, and tired from everything else. I took out of them what i could and hope more pops up in the future. It was great seeing everyone, Ken you had some really nice spins keep it up i wanna see some footage that you got of me :). Noel, always a pleasure. Krissy good seeing you again, very nice doubles. Tank and Lily you two are awesome and I can;t wait to jam again. Everyone else at the Vulcan keep spinning and ill see you at burning man. Sky thanks so much for everything you did, busy busy. elektra you as well, thanks for being so....elekrtric :) i know i forgot people, SOO many and im at work. But everyone i met i seemed to just click with which never happens. Lots of fun, Cant wait for FD '09

As some may know, I received my Burning Man ticket not too long ago and today I purchased my FireDrums ticket (finally). I am so excited I could.....jump up and down? I can't wait to learn more staff....I have been on a bit of a plateu as of late so it's pretty much the same thing over and over with more emphasis on "other direction" tricks. I've started poi.......I'm still not sure about it.......but i seem to be progressing rather nicely, I think it takes more of a dancing stance to spinning the contact does......which sucks for me but maybe I will develope some flow. So ya...FIREDRUMS!!! I can't wait to see The Vulcan Crew again and I'm sure i will make a couple of new friends out there...but then again there is a good chance that I won't due to my shy and quiet nature.....in which case i will have some num num herbs and be able to cope with no problem......maybe i should pick up my meteor a bit before..... And to close this out.....a song. R-E-C-Y-C-L-E Recycle So we can C-O-N-S-E-R-V-E Conserve Don't you P-O-L-L-U-T-E Pollute the river, sky, or sea Or else yer gonna get what you deserve!

I got my new video up, the fire one, let me know what you think. Staff is going pretty well. I'm picking it up quickly and love it. Yay staff. After this year I am feeling very confident that my abilities will be greatly increased and it will be looking good in just a bit more time :) Now i just need to figure out how to make my staff skills work for me in getting the attention of women......should work right? My new years resolutions are: Left handed fishtails Opposite direction everything Pick up my meteor more Minimal beat steve Not touch the staff with my hands or drop it for an entire burn.
