My Testimonials

Holly's Official Stamp of Approval (tm):

This girl is nothing short of extraordinary. Super-intelligent, beautiful, talented, and creatively inspiring...AND the hands-down (or up) best masseuse I've ever known. There's a lot of power in those hands, and in that heart. She is truly a Muse, and doesn't even know it. I am honored to call her my friend.

Yup...

...yup, that's who I am married to and last night only proved it further. After riding close to 30 miles yesterday (first time in a long while) and doing other things lately that have pushed my body to its limits my upper legs were causing me great grief. Apparently I can't take tylenol, excedrin or any pain killer without adverse effects anymore so I dragged myself off to bed early. When my Johnny Boo finally made it upstairs to our room close to midnight I was deep in nodland but he still m... read more

So far my favorite thing about moving to Fremont from Cotati is that I'm at least an hour closer to Santa Cruz. Woohoo! So today, I will be "working" in my polka dot bikini with a cold thermos of iced tea on my left, my work materials on my right, my two dogs running circles around me, and a wet Johnny Boo in the water in front of me. Santa Cruz makes me VERY happy...as do beaches in general.

BEACH DAY!

This spring break was the first one I've had in a probably a decade that wasn't spent studying about El Vez and his role in transnational identity or that theatre thing I majored in. I guess since I'm not in school anymore it didn't really count as a true break but I must say it was a lovely one. I spent two days in Santa Cruz and two up in the snow where I went snowboarding for the first time! Yay! My daddy has been wanting to get me into it for several years and now I can officially say tha... read more

Since Johnny and I moved earlier this month I've been learning a bit more about my daddy's side of the family (from Mississippi and Alabama). I always had a feeling that my inner farm girl came from his side and this was confirmed by a book on his kinfolk filled with names like Bessie, Mary Lou, Horace, etc. My favorite story of where the Yeeha in my soul came from? My uncle who grew up in a one-schoolroom farm town proposed to my aunt by telling her about a dream he had. In his dream there w... read more

This week I found out that medical insurance doesn't cover basic things like:

* Physicians who keep your perscription info up to date so that the pharmacy knows what or what not to give you

* A call (you know, that call they said they'd make ASAP) from the pharmacy or physician saying that the mistakes Kaiser has made have been cleared up and that your medication is finally ready...

* Correct information about the times that the local facility's pharmacy is open so that being two da... read more
