The serpent slithers, contorting into infinity.
Embracing the unknown.
Calling on it's ancestors, to awaken the divine knowledge embedded in it's coiled vertabrae.
Dripping in and out of worlds,the dreamer, the woman, the creator.
Open the door, walk through the walls,
let go and spread your wings into this floating world.
A story that was written now flies into the stars on the backs of the vaneshing embers.
It's pages lie open a bridge into this twisting world.

Look at this hollow earth awaiting our loose change.
Do not disturb the serpent so elegantly wrapped round the shifting planet.
She sleeps dreaming of her next creation .
We see her dreams, the swirling colors awaiting their blank canvas.
Pick up the paintbrush and dance into this new vision

I have recently updated my Rachel Rose design tribe with brand new pictures of new feather clips, Many of which are for sale. I will also be starting a photo contest. Hello Portland!

Finally I'm gettting out of ashland into the big wide real world. The perfect opportunity to use my friends sewing studio and sublet their room while they are in Hawaii just happened to present it self . I love how things magically come together for me up here! so 2 tubs of fabric 2 hat boxes filled with feathers and all my kombucha tea party stuff and i'm set up here. so easy and effortlessly these things go.
After i went to a strip club and ended up walking out of there with tonz of cash from selling my feather clips to all the strippers.I knew it was time to be up here. So Hello Portland !!! here i am in your beautiful funky streets!!! and i'm in love already.

the new american dream !

i know alot of people are really dissapointed about this years burningman theme because they dont want to be bombarded with red white and blue and overwhelming amounts of anti political/ corporate satire. i dont want to be emersed in all that either but i think there are some aspects of this theme that have been overlooked .
i think more of the intention for this year is to look at our country in the whole spectrum of light and dark. to confront the things that we have helped create in this society and look into ourselves and decide how we want to change this. what we as individuals can do to actually make change in the system.
instead of just making fun of the icons of america that we so much despise why not acknowlede some american icons that have made change and inspire us. i think those of us that despise so much of our country often forget some of the amazing expression that has been created on american soil. jazz for example, blues , burningman.
right now in the world there is this strange duality of people hating our country but also being completly obsessed with our culture. we have a massive influence in the world with the trends and pop culture we create. i think we are living in an exciting time to shitft paradigms and start really forming our society into something that we can actually relate to as the american dream. the traditional sense of the american dream hasn't existed for a while but we do live in a land of opportunity and from that we do have the freedom to create a life that we belive is worth living.
we all come out to the playa to experiance how we would like to live for one week out of the year then we go back to our jobs our lives and once in a while those nostalgic burningman memories seep in and help us through our day. i dont know what it is or how it is going to be created but thats why we are all here together to build the new dream we are already just starting to live.

may we always keep that purity and love within our hearts and let it pour through our being. and my we always be able to feed our inner child with love and amazment for the simple yet complex things we experiance and see day to day. See the squirrels in the trees, the hummingbirds in the flowers, and the butterflies in the garden. Run laugh play and be at one with the vastness of simplicity.
