ride to diversity
hello loves,i'm heading up to texada from victoria on thursday morning, july 12, and have room for at least 2 more. i will probably be coming back late monday, possibly tuesday morning if i can get the day off work. let me know if you are interested in a ride either way and sharing gas and ferry costs. Also, i may have an extra ticket ($80).
lovelove
a debt
mother, i have traded salt for bones.(how much corn for the toothless man
how many deer, dead by the road)
perhaps if i had fasted for three days, perhaps this shadow -
or if i had not already broken my promise
if i had kept my vigil through the night -
this cold low place near the water
by the bridge where we first lost our footing
lead by small hands, by children
my wrists are bound with nettle to break the spell
a song
once the pen is in my hands the words are losteither that or i am lost
in the words
they become birds
to host the sound
soft as ghosts
until they've flown
where your winging walks
between the spokes of deaths wheel
here i feel -
still.
quietus
you are growing, little egg, on a wing into the night sky.take the last of your feathers and pluck free the stars of their eyes
so we may see beyond mourning
to morning.
i am born into the space where dark sea becomes dark sky. the space
where stillness and movement meet, whisper their greetings, and embrace.
chase me back up my mothers life cord, up the staircase to the stars.
laughing, i will turn into the fish who swims in the air, a wish to fall
with phosphorescent feathers, back into the black sea.
la deee da dee da
yesterday was learning the starsand between following one and chasing another
i've woken up in the arugula patch
my heart humming green along with the frogs
i love you because you make me laugh
and i'm laughing because i love you
today my stumbling fumbling footsteps are a dance
chance spilling pebbles upon the path
i cant leave the beach
without filling my pockets with stones
and then she jumped into the ocean
my dear lovesall this vast
space we blossom into (in two) too
my hearts' blips and bleeps
sleeps
the place i'll see you next
today the eagle feasting on the carrion
so much laughter sliding down the sandbank
all these children tumbling over one another
like the five new kittens in the closet
i love my family
