So I am currently taking a class specific to cats....and we have been getting all of these funny fun facts about cats ....some I knew and some not but still very funny nevertheless.... Okay I have my last final as a 3rd year veterinary student tomorrow and my last weekend of on call for equine this weekend....then Monday...officially a 4th year student with one more year in Mississippi...........then.......who knows where the wind will take me but I am excited to think of all the great things the future brings...... Of someplace to crash in the Bay area..... So I am looking to eventually move to the Bay area but need to do a 2 or 3 week externship out there first.....I don't have the money to stay in a hotel for that long so I am looking for a kind soul to let me crash on a couch or floor......the potential dates are if 2weeks then August 19-31 or if 3 weeks then it would be from August 27-Sept 14. I am applying for scholarships and if I get them I can pay someone some money based on how much they give me for rent..... ..............but I can't apply for the scholarship w/o having the externship approved and I can get the externship approved without knowing that I will have a place to stay. Anyone that can help.....Please...Please .....Please!!!!!

The first one is June 15th to June 28th.....I know this is coming up on Summer and Festival time but does anyone have crash space for me? On a guy just makes me stare at their ass......Heehee ......So today for Food animal we went to a Beef farm to palpate for pregnancy and their was this cowboy with chaps...and I kept catching myself staring at his ass.....it was a nice ass but all the same .....it wasn't as if I was attracted to this guy ........I swear chaps are like a picture frame...they make you zone in on whats center.......... More importantly....it was amazing and sad to see today how much these cows loved their calves....they were separated while the cows were palpated and the calves were vaccinated....and the whole time they were hooting and hollering to each other.....the moms got done first and all of them waited right at the gate waiting for their babies to be released.........and as they were...they paired up, went out to pasture and it felt like there was peace in the world again......it was beautiful... ...........It just made me so sad minutes later to know that their babies would be taken from them once again....the next time never to come back...just to be dinner on someones plate.......

Gggrrrhhhhhhh.........for some reason......clinics is a breeding ground for every virus and bacteria that exists............just 2 weeks ago i had a stomach bug and now I have bronchitis................of course everyone else seems to just get a bad cold but mine always seems to turn into bronchitis........now I have been in bed for 2 days with no light in sight..........maybe I will have to give in and go see one of them damn doctors here at school that doesn't know a damn thing..... ........That last sentance was all said with a MS accent.....damn.........I really am sick.......... ...........whats even worse........I had fun plans this weekend with a really good friend that i had to cancel with when I had the stomach flu and I was really looking forward to it...............................WWAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Okay....I am done whining now!!!!

So...I have been teaching dance out of my townhouse for a while now but it has kind of stunk that I don' t have any mirrors for my students..................so today I went to deposit my school loan check today so that I can have a little scrap of money and what do I see............drum roll.............huge mirrors........... ....One of the hotels is being demolished and they are getting rid of all their shit..............so I got 2 large mirrors (3ft X 5ft) for $15 ...............Yippie!!!!!!!!!!!! Now...if I could only find a hot man to put them up for me.........maybe one of them young MS boys will come over in their overall's and put them up...............Teehee!!!!!

I had to come in for emergency surgery at 1am last night and left at 6:00am this morning...just enough time to go home...feed and walk my dogs....take a shower and come back to the hospital....I am working on 2 hours of sleep and shaky from hypoglycemia....I will probably be here till 7pm tonight....... Then I get to go home and study arthroscopy for a dog and learn all the anatomy of a komodo dragon that I am blessed to be able to do neck surgery on for and atlanto-axial luxation........So because I am retarded and make things hard on myself....I volunteered to do this komodo...my head says...hell yeah...that would rock....my body says....You are stupid...when do you plan on sleeping..............And Dr. Demko says...........Of course you signed up for it........You're Weird!!!!!

Alright....so apparently here at MSU-College of Vet Medicine, we are not in the practice of helping animals.....This is China Doll....a 6 week old kitten that got dumped here Friday because it was sick with Upper Respiratory Tract Infection. So we have been taking care of it over the weekend...making her better so she can have a home....We used all medications that were donated....not new ones. Okay...so I broke the rules a little.....I put the ultrasound probe on the kitty to make sure his large doughy abdomen was just full of food but it is not like I was having a boared radiologist read an ultrasound................it was for my eductional experience!!!!!!!!!! Well I just got ripped a new asshole for having the cat here by the Director of Clinical Sciences for trying to help an animal....given the ultimatum of euthanizing the kitten or having it out of the hospital by tonight..... ........Luckily there are some really nice tech students who are taking it out of here tonight so that she doesn't have to go visit baby Jesus before her time but she still needs a home.........Any takers??????????

So my mom came to visit me this weekend.....we had a fabulous time..... My mom likes to play the slots and I like to get out of Starkville so Sat we drove around an hour to a casino....she had $100 set aside for us to play with.....Well, we got there and got our little cards...she handed me $50 when I decided I had to use the potty....so she said she would just sit right there .....well I came back and she had already won $1000.....yes $1000....Hell YEAH!!!! I ended up winning $150....so needless to say both of us left with more money than we came with....when does that ever happen in a casino...............And we got free lunch....Good stuff too....Mmmmmhhh I had crab legs..... Well....thank you mom for a wonderful weekend....LOVE YOU!!!!

Anesthesia and loving it

So I have one more week on anesthesia and am feeling a little sad. I am finally starting to feel more like a doctor instead of just a student. So people turn in their anesthesia request forms the day before and then we have to basically work up the animal and come up with an anesthetic plan. Then we go over it in rounds in the morning just to make sure we aren't going to hurt anything. So I anesthetized (me, myself and I ...not just watching anymore) my first horse yesterday and oh what an experience. Such an amazing creature...China was her name...she was a paint horse....And when I came in in the morning I had a baggie of cereal in my pocket that she stole...so we kind of traded...I gave her a few bites of my cereal...she promised not to tell I fed her and let me physical her without killing me!!!! Anyway she recovered from surgery amazingly!!! And working with Dr, Hendrix has been amazing. She is by far one of the most amazing people I know. She is so calm and tranquil in the most chaotic circumstances....and a smile never leaves her face even when things are going to the shitter.............ie. Equine decided to do an elective castration on a 6yo stallion...okay..if you don't know...a 6yo stallion...can be quite a handful....so they castrate this horse...he wakes up and is being an ass and starts to bleed enough that we had to reanesthetize this horse who is basically freeking out and ataxic to boot. She calmly goes in and pulls some syringes out of her pocket...she says in a quiet, calm and sooothing voice to the horse..." ketamine, xylazine, torb...mmmmhhhh....we like torb..that is a good drug...I think we will use that one...." So once the horse is on the anesthetic machine she looks at me and calmly says...."This is why we do not do elective procedures on friday afternoon" with a smile still peaking at the corners of her mouth.....she is too cute!!!!! She is one of those people you would feel awful if you disappoint and it means the world to you if she compliments you....... She will be away at a conference for my last week on anesthesia...but today....as I was leaving she said...Thank you....It has been a pleasure working with you!!!! This made me feel amazing!!!!

So I have had one of the shittiest days ever today....well it actually started last night.....left Columbus last night just after telling Bear that my truck has really negative energy associated with it...and what happens....I get a flat tire...now I haven't had a flat in over 5 years so I have no recollection of how to change one....can't get a hold of anyone to come help me....so what do I do...drive home on the flat....yes I am a dumb ass....... Then this morning...I take my dogs out and someone has their dog loose and I wasn't paying attention so my pooches take off...and I go flying down a hill.....now I don't mean...running....I mean flying through the air and tumbling...I have scratches and bruises all over.... And this was just the start....so if anyone would like to add any more insult to injury please ADD SALT to all my wounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
