Tuning Things Up a Bit.....

   Sun, July 22, 2007 - 5:40 PM
I finally took a pic of the newest member of my Instrument family... my new Martin Back Packer Guitar.. im having a blast with it, even though i can only play slowly a few chords, and the steel strings hurt my fingers, but its a good hurt and WOW! i really love practicing it and hearing just strumming it and listening to its melodious sound.
Its quite meditative, before i know it, ill be playing my first tune...
Its funny, because the guitar never appealed to me as a kid, but now in my 40s, its been calling to me, so ive gone with the flow and opened myself to it fully....Tomorrow i have to get an electric tuner though, because its hard for me to tune it up, its something thats gonna take some practice as well.... The Guitar and me, are still getting aquainted with each others energies, so it can feel a bit akward at times. the feel is just so foriegn to me right now, but i love everything about it. i wanted to share it with you all.....

And thank you for sharing...You remind me of a real life example of Johnathon Livingston Seagull and really much more. I find it inspirational and wonderous that you connect to so many different forms of expression and are able to see so much positive flow of energie in so many different ways, this being yet another for you and the positiveness you will generate will help the universe overall and each of us. Such is the benefits of connectivity of energy in the hands of a caring soul.

Nice...
Great gear and a neat idea (the back-packer concept). Your fingers will toughen up...your ear will become acute...and you'll learn all of the nuance of your martin. To me (still) learning more music is like an on-going relationship...always something new and exciting as the experience grows.

have fun!

P.S. Give me your opinion of the fibre-glass/mechanically tuned djembe. I have a beautiful old Senegalese 14" that I use for everything but am wanting to go mechanical for my stage rig. Opinion?
