about me
I was born in Montevideo, capital of Uruguay. Both Montevideo and Buenos Aires, comprise the area known as the "Rio de la Plata" or River Plate; Plata means silver in Spanish. This area is known as the birthplace of the tango, a dance as much from Uruguay as from Argentina. The tango has a rich and unusual history, culture and a vast and sophisticated musical repertoire, which includes a glorious lexicon of unique "Rio Platense" slang, known as "Lunfardo"

You have to think of your arms as starting from your spine. It is a good idea to have your students start by using one arm, then gradually introduce the other. They should think and feel that both arms and the entire shoulder girdl... read more

Stain on my Veil!!
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

I have a stain on one of my favorite veils--it is the very, very sheer china silk variety that has the transparency of silk chiffon. I have had it for a long time and it certainly shows. I ' ve never had a stain on a veil before this. Is there any way of cleaning or minimizing this without ruining the veil--it is a bold turquoise color. Any suggestions?

Dancing family
I was up in Lowell, Ma. yesterday, April 5th, watching my adorable niece and her adorable friend, participate in the "American Dance Awards" competition.

They have both grown so much in dance, showed such poise and presence, I was thrilled. By the way, she does not do Middle Eastern, but you should see her amazing headslides!!

It was a wonderful spectacle of solos and group numbers, wonderful talent, vitality and just the sheer joy of dance!
