about me
I live near Stone Mountain, on the northeast side of Atlanta, with my husband, two daughters, two cats and three snakes. I love to read, go out to dinner with friends, hang out with my family, sing and dance, spin fire, practice poi and yoga, and make my daughter smile.
I've been hooping and bellydancing since the summer of 2006. In February 2007 my husband and I started going to the poi workshops at Jai Shanti, where I also take yoga. On March 16, 2007, I spun fire for the first time - what a rush! I attended a workshop where I learned to eat fire on April 8, 2007 - thanks, Isa! On June 2, 2007, Pete showed my husband and me how to build our first set of fire poi - cathedral wicks with ball chains, ordering a set of leather handles from HOP. Nice to spin a brand new set, handmade by US! I have to mention that Amelia burned brightly, bravely, for the first time tonight. August 4, 2007 - had my first two big OOOPS - set the fringe of my jean shorts on fire, then scorched my eyebrow and arm a few minutes later trying to do a move before I was ready. My three-year-old is asking for her turn to spin fire & is imitating me with glow sticks. My little spinner... July 23, 2007 - Bonfire Day! Somehow I still find time to work and sleep...

My three-year old daughter wants to spin fire already, and is happy to take her turn with glow sticks!
