www.comic-con.org Thats right; I'm heading back out to CA at the end of this month to attend the biggest comic convention that there is! I've been wanting to go to this for well over 10 years now but could never swing it before with it being so close to DragonCon. The best thing of all is I get to play one of my all time favorite charachters; Jim Balent's Tarot. (Points to pic above) Yep, I'm gonna be a Booth Babe for a little while on Saturday! Lotsa pics will be forthcoming!

Well I just sent out the final payment for it so hopefully it will be mailed off tomorrow! Its a Teal Great Loop! I cannot wait to get it! Of course you realize this means I need much more sparklie classes so I have a reason to wear this. But its MINE! It comes with a full skirt but I ordered an L. Rose slit trumpet skirt in teal luxury velvet (apparently they have a new more blue teal fabric as the old teal was greener; hopefully it looks good with it!) to wear with it as well. Now... off to stalk that other sparklie costume I want on ebay...

HELP - Tribal Fest packing list?

Ok, so next week I fly out to my first Tribal Fest. I leave on Tuesday the 13th and come back on Monday the 19th. I'm taking classes wednesday - saturday. Sunday night we are going out to a local bar with some friends. What should my packing list look like?

I'm selling a pair of brand new falls; only put on for a few moments for pictures. I've decided I'm going to be coloring my hair black and I want to commission the artist that made these for a black set! Seriously. Someone said to me yesterday that they couldn't wait for this Saturday. I looked at her and said 'Whats this saturday?' O_O Yeah. Heehee. I've been talking to Jo all morning via emails confirming last bits and details and I think everything is set, paid for and covered. LOL. I can't wait for the classes; everytime I talk to her about what we are going to be doing I get even more excited. lol. I tried finding this .gif I had somewhere which had these kittens bouncing all around but the place I had linked isn't showing it anymore. I wanted to post it to describe how I felt because that would be it. ;)

So I've come over to the darkside and ordered my first Ipod which will be here tomorrow or Friday. heh. I'd been waffling about getting one for a while but after seeing how handy they were at 3rd Coast I decided I needed one. I've got 80gbs to fill and my entire collection of cds won't fill that. ;) SO! Show me your dance playlists! (You know, I don't even know if you can copy and past your playlist titles but I hope so! I've never used an Ipod or Itunes so I don't know how it works. Feel free to educate me!) :) Even if you don't have an Ipod but have songs that you think NEED to be on any dance playlist, lemme know!

TribalFest anyone?

Just wondering if anyone on my friends list is heading out to TribalFest May 14-18 this year? I want to go but don't want to go by myself as I've never been before. Also, just saw that the Zoe, Rachel and Mardi classes already sold out and so I figure I need to make plans now. need to BUY those classes from someone, dang it! :p

One more gone, only 4 to go! One lucky lady was gifted a coveted spot for christmas by her loving husband this morning so yep, only 4 left for other lucky ladies! ;) I recently had a rehersal in the room where the workshop will be held and it only made me more excited! There are mirrors everwhere and even a raised stage on one side. There will be plenty of room for the 20 of us & Jo. The studio also has cold bottled water for sale ($1 a bottle) plus there is a great pizza place next door and a yummy little deli a few doors down the other way. I will be performing at the upcoming tribal dance workshop show at 3rd Coast & have also placed an ad in their program for the Burlesque workshop. I'm pretty confident that the remaining 4 spots are going to go quickly once I get the info in front of more dancers; Tribal Fusion dancers (IMHO) seem to be a little more open minded and more interested in Burlesque than others I have posted this to. :p I can't wait for this workshop!!

Rather than let them continue to sit in storage and since I need new pieces for troupe costumes I'm popping them online! Woohoo! The news alot of you have been waiting for! here's the info: We are pleased to announce the addition of an advanced fan class to our workshop schedule! The advanced fan class will take place on Sunday at 6:30pm and is limited to 20 attendees as well. In the basic class included in the 2-day workshop you will learn the basics such as hand positions and fan control. This 90-minute class will take you to the next level and show you not only the art of revealing and concealing but you will even learn choreography! The cost of this class is $40 per person and you must bring your own fans. For those that need a set of fans we are pleased to be able to offer a discount for those attending this workshop with Ostrich.com! Using the coupon code that will be supplied to you once registered you will be able to purchase a fan for the discounted price you would get if you were ordering 6! (Please note this discount code will only be available to registered attendees of the advanced fan class.) Sick, sucky day

Ugh, I need a do-over for this week. I came down with something on MOnday; started feeling like crapola around lunchtime. Probably form camping in the cold on Saturday and getting no sleep because my pup that we brought with us had tummy issues and needed to go 'out' every hour. Today I woke up at 4am and was feeling especially horrid so around 7:30am I got up to call in sick to work. I had just put my phone down when Hubby comes back in the front door to let me know his car had been broken into. Nice. The neighbors car looks to have been broken into first; they actually CUT the window from the pane and placed it across the street in someone elses lawn. Stole the neighbors stereo, speakers and cds. Then I think they moved onto Hubby's car; popped the lock and got spooked by the alarm as all they took was his Ipod and his PDA. His work laptop was on the floor int he backseat and it looks like they rummaged a bit throgh the backseat as Hubb'ys Jack Sparrow hat was on the frontseat this morning when it had been in the back as of last night. Good thing they didn't take the hat; the dang thing was almost $300! The weirdest thing about the whole thing was that the theives left 'presents' behind. Next to Curtis' car was a wooden box full of makeup, some belt buckles and even a photo. Next to the neighbors car was a full purse! So anyways; police came out and he was really good about it. Took pics and actually lifted fingerprints off the pane of glass from the neighbors car. The cop was pretty perplexed about things; said usually the windows are just smashed and things certainly aren't left behind. Hopefully either the fingerprints or the 'presents' lead to who did this. I think it has to be some 'friends' of the stupid neighbors. I do not like them at all; the car that got broken into is always tearing around the street and damn near hit me when I was walking to the mailbox last week. Anyways. here's hoping I finish all the sewing I need to do this weekend and feel better enough to go back to dancing next week.

Jo Weldon has learned directly from the ladies who performed during the golden age of twentieth century striptease, and she's ready to show you the best of the best! Learn the sexy shimmy, the tantalizing glove peel, the devastating bump n grind, and the dazzling tassel-twirl from an internationally recognized striptease expert with decades of performing experience. Many former students perform in New York at prestigious burlesque venues. You can, too! Or, you can take a burlesque workshop simply because the workshop itself is a party! It's even more fun when you bring a friend! The workshop will consist of two full days of intensive instruction; the first day will focus on burlesque dance (basic moves, chair, fan, peel, and floor) classes, and the second day of skit burlesque (ideas, themes, music) classes and resources (costuming, shopping, props). The first day will also include a basic fan dance class, featuring lessons on hand positions, types of fans, and basic fan dance moves. An additional advanced fan dance class including ostrich feather fans that you get to keep will be offered if supplies are available.
