Aaaaahhhhh................. Belly Temple, the Wild Honey Dance Festival launch, was held last Saturday at the luscious Temple Byron, in Byron Bay! It featured 12 diverse performances that showcased a range of MED plus Tribal improv and fusion. I loved the Tribal Blossoms zill, sword and improv set and judging by the general feedback they were hot favourites of the night.... the Zaar left me tingling...... Meredith's passionate and free gypsy dance inspired me - it was her first solo performance and although very nervous, she followed through with an honest and committed performance.... Kara opened the evening with a heartfelt prayer offering..'beauty to the left of me, beauty to the right of me.... beauty below me, beauty above me...." gorgeous.... Hilary Cinis' contemporary Tribal fusion was sublime. I can't wait to see her perform at Wild Honey in September.... and rumour has it that she's doing a dance collaboration with another much loved Australian fusion artist..... ?? ; ) It should be a dynamic and compelling performance....
