junk food cravings

The past 2 days I have been in a deep junk food binge. I went to the market to get milk and Aleve, only I forgot the Aleve and bought a bunch of snackies.... Cheetos, Ding Dongs (Ring Dings in NJ), Ho Ho's (Yodels....) Twinkies and Hostess Cakes... you know, chocolate with the white squiggly on top. At least I'm only eating one package a day.

Tonight I went to the market for the Aleve since I had taken the last one. Remembered the Aleve.... but I also bought 2 packages of Extra Dark chocolate Chessmen cookies - hey! they were on sale! - and Walker's Shortbread, which is now half gone.

All this because I am VERY upset and stressed out at work. They took me from My Happy Place and transferred me to another building. I am NOT one bit pleased. I'd say more, but "they" have employees who do nothing other than surf the WWWeb looking for stuff written about "them". This includes the GM.

I was only supposed to be in Burning, Stinking Hell for only July. But I see I am still here on the August schedule. hmmmm.... maybe I should pursue that Negligence case when I as injured on the job last March.

It was time to go to the public laundromat..... the hamper was overflowing. So I took my book and a trash bag full of dirty clothes. It was pretty uneventful....

until....


I pulled my clothes out of the dryer. A green condom fell to the floor!!! I used a scrap of paper to pick it up and throw it away. I think I'll go back to washing my clothes in the bathtub, like I did in college!!


....and yeah, I'm going to have to go and re wash my clothes tomorrow....

The Shinin'

I was gone this weekend. When I got back home the dogs were excited to see me! I went outside to play ball.... bent down to pick one up just as Cooper did a jump/spin and CRACK! His skull met my brow ridge! I saw stars and ran inside to put ice on it. As I lay there, I *knew* it wasn't going to make any difference. I was going to get a black eye. How did I know? Because I had 2 Guide Dog presentations to do the next day!!


The presentations went well and the UPS employees donated very generously!! And Calle was well behaved too!

iPod Fever

I have just spent 2 hours and $55 bucks on iTunes........
I downloaded a buncha 60's tunes, the ones I used to sing-a-long with when I was a kid (Winchester Cathedral, I'm Henry the VIII). And some we sang in music class (Wendy).

Then there were the few from the 70's - Indian Reservation, Fox on the Run, Build Me Up, Buttercup...
I skipped the 80's & 90's

I finished up with contemporary selections - Stop, Shut Up, Clint Eastwood, Love Me Dead....

I surprised myself by purchasing several Weezer tunes. I'm not a big fan, but I do like Undone (the sweater song), Hash Pipe, Beverly Hills. I even bought one of their annoying (IMO) songs, Islands in the Sun. Reminds me so much of The Archies!!!!

Speaking of which..... yah, I downloaded some Archies songs!! *snort* Of course I grabbed Sugar, Sugar! And Hot Dog...and Archie's Party...and because I will fall down laughing at myself for this, Everything's Archie.... so c'mon let's go with the Archie Show! ROTFLMAOAM!! (AM = at myself)

OK, the pup wants to be fed now....

poor Jax....

Poor boy! I'm over due on clipping his nails, so I got out the clippers, treats and sat down in "the spot". He *hates* getting his nails cut. Used to bite the heck outta my hands back in the beginning when I first brought him home. Now he reluctantly tolerates it. What a good boy! But today it was a pretty bad experience for him. Jax was trying so hard to be good but the puppy kept jumping on him during the "torture". He never snapped and I got all 4 paws done fairly quickly.

Calle's first few days...

.... have been been great! She learned her name, Calle, in just a few hours. The older dogs and cat are accepting, but not overly warm to her. I can't believe my alpha dog has allowed her to jump on him and chew his tail. He is The Emperor of All.... and expects to be treated as such. Jumping on him is undignified..... but he just gets up and walks away. Calle's ADD then finds something else for her to chew.

I am sooooooooooooo lucky that she sleeps through the night! No crying while in the crate, no middle of the night potty emergencies. Still, there have been accidents in the house. I totally missed one until after I had walked through it a few times. So I had to add mopping the kitchen floor to today's To Do List.

I found this in a tribe posting.... $500 a month to CAMP in someone's back yard??? WTF??? if campgrounds charge $15 a night times 30 days = $450!

I want....... and NEED....

a solar powered lawn mower. I have a push mower, which is just too small and exhausting to mow 2/3s of an acre. I've mowed the lawns with that only twice.... now I use the weed wacker. Still takes about 2 hours.

I've been pricing them... they run from about $600 to $4000. Home Depot *used* to sell the $600 one.... I don't know why they don't carry it anymore. Mebbe Lowes? Or OSH? I just gotta keep looking.
